2014 Top100 WR expecting #NotreDame visit this week Will Irish stop by school of 4-star 2014 WR? #Irish via @Niebuhr247

Keith Niebuhr:

Jacob McCrary, the top-100 national 2014 prospect and 4-star WR from Miami, says he thinks there's a good chance ND will stop by his school this week. Says he is supposed to call Tony Alford to see if it'll happen.

Clemson was at his school today.

McCrary recently de-committed from FSU and claims to be pretty open. He lists ND as one of the schools he really likes.

Up and coming team, early playing time, probably pretty lenient academically (so they can take the guys who can't get in anywhere else), gorgeous campus, and gorgeous women.

Just a question about recruiting. Suppose an elite recruit was split between ND and Ole Miss--he really prefers ND for the quality of the football program, but he also prefers Ole Miss because of its easy classes. If you knew that a kid was really split between the two for these reasons, should ND keep pursuing him? I mean, if he wouldn't really be embracing all that ND is and important parts of what makes it special (the education).

I was just thinking that situations like this are going to be not uncommon now that a major selling point of the program is the on-field success.

I'm with the PANDA on this. There are tons of crappy programs who can offer early playing time and easy classes to top recruits. Those aren't selling points.

Gorgeous campus and gorgeous women? Wouldn't know, but this is Mississippi we're talking about-- the worst state in the union in many significant statistical categories (income, education, obesity, etc.). It represents every negative stereotype imaginable about the South.

I spent a month in Mississippi a couple summers ago. Nice little town. Gorgeous women. Did seem to perpetuate stereotypes, however.

Junior?

Also, Ole Miss has one of the best gameday atmosphere's in the country and I know quite a few people who have gotten a decent education from there. It's no ND for academics though.

And the women... good lawd.

I know. He is. But every report I saw put him at that size as a freshman.

I see. I was just a wee bit confused for you.

The kid has quite the offer list already. I'm in. However, I wouldn't hate for the staff to slow play a lot of these kids from here on out unless they are top 5 at their position.
