Per Mike Dwyer of Cincinnati Enquirer. Kid looks legit, but might be a hard pull - already in talks with Ohio State.

Irish Offer Stanford

Stanford caught 42 passes for 865 yards and seven touchdowns this past season while also catching the eye of several big-time programs. He’s received offers from Alabama, Cincinnati, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan State, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas Tech and most recently Notre Dame.

“Notre Dame is one of the schools that he’s very interested in,” the head coach said. “He likes the tradition that Notre Dame has. Any school that he’s interested in, he’s looking at how he would fit. He has become a person that exudes confidence and the one thing that he always talks about is, wherever he goes, he’s going in to play as a freshman. He says he understands what that takes. It takes hard work and showing the coaches that he deserves to be on the field.

“He is very high on Notre Dame.”

Good read. If we are trying to establish a pipeline for Ohio recruits (especially Cincinnati), judging from his offer list, this kid would be a good one to go after.

The article is an interview with his head coach Mike Martin who played in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals as a WR. He seems like he will be a big player in Stanford's recruitment. Due to the Lynch and Tuitt sagas, I feel partly due to their head coaches, I was interested where this coaches loyalties may lie. Raised in DC, played college ball at Illinois.

Great size, I wonder if he will struggle to seperate at the next level.

Same questions were raised about Floyd and so far he turned out ok...when you're that big and strong you're a matchup nightmare regardless of speed, kid's a stud basketball player too so you know he's an athlete. Maybe another AJ Green??

ESPN's Luginbull from the Ohio State camp:

WR Dwayne Stanford is big and fluid, needs more focus. Deceptively fast given his size.

From OSU Nike Camp, confirming what some have already said:

Under Armor All-American wide receiver Dwayne Stanford II (Cincinnati, Ohio/Taft) has been relatively quiet this offseason but that's going to change over the next few months.

"Next week I plan to go to Michigan," Stanford said. "And in June I'm going to hit the road and see these campuses so I can trim my choices."

The 6-3, 187-pounder says he'll definitely be going to camps at Notre Dame, Kentucky and Florida State. He is also in regular communication with Ohio State, Alabama, Purdue, LSU, Miami and USC.

"My coach will be working a lot of the camps so I'm going to go with him," Stanford said. "I'm definitely looking for a good atmosphere and hopefully I can talk with the coaches and see what their plans are for me."

Stanford says that he is a great fit for a pro-style offense and takes pride in his ability to assist in the running game with his downfield blocking. As for Saturday's camp, it was a chance for him to see where he is as a top-level prospect.

"I want to be at a point where I'm the best and I know I can come out here and dominate," Stanford added. "Right now I have a lot of things to work on and this camp is helping me with that."
