Seantrel Henderson

Seantrel Henderson

Recent articles have been stating that Seantrel Henderson is not fully committed to USC and is looking at Miami/Ohio State for possible Unis to attend.
Why isn't BK going after him? Maybe he is. But it seems like if this guy is still undetermined than we should do everything we can to try and nail him!

We don't need him that's why Brain Kelly isn't going after him. I wouldn't want him in South Bend. I hope he sold that jersey BK gave him on ebay because he doesn't deserve it.

does he have the grades? If he did, we'd take him. Of course we would, he was consensus top 5 last year.

There have been a bunch of articles and commentary on his Trojan no show for a couple of weeks here. This link is for one of them. It should answer your question.

Apparently there's no enough limelight in L.A. these days for him and his dad who seem better suited to the Seventh Floor Crew than ND residential life. A year ago he said he wanted a big city life not a quiet campus. His academics were borderline and he was a late qualifier with the NCAA. ND's requirements are considerably higher than the NCAA minimums. Miami and OSU were in the running for him before. Both have a demonstrated lack of interest in student's performing in the classroom. They're a much better fit. At either of those places, like at Southern Cal, they can hide him until he jumps to the NFL.

As an NCAA Div 1 transfer he will have to sit out his first year. He'll opt for the draft as soon as possible. He's a talented athlete that doesn't seem to have any interest in the ND way of life.

I cant believe this site has wasted almost 700 posts on this kid. He aint coming here, he is going to a school that fits his needs, those of a athlete that wants nothing to do with academics and higher standards. Im glad he wants to transfer just so he has to sit a year... maybe by the grace of God he can do some growing up in that time frame, but i doubt it.

He wants to just coast into the NFL.... then let him.... at a school that is no where near the par of Notre Dame academically or morally. OSU, Miami, and USCheat seem to all fit that bill very well.

Nicely put IA. But I want to be post #700, so grin and bear it!!! :gbanana:

One thing that I didn't find in a quick peruse of this thread (but might have been written here) is that the dude is up to 355 (!!!) pounds. That is friggin' huge!!! Talk about sitting around and eating twinkies. ND commits were given a workout regimen from Longo that was a bitch to do, but you know those guys are showing up in some pretty decent shape. And the SC kids have already started working out together. You think they're going to welcome this overweight, out-of-shape prima donna with open arms. Even if he did choose SC, those guys are going to give him hell when he does show up, and there is no way he starts as a freshman being that pitifully overweight.

And one more point that people haven't made, is that in an interview, Kiffin admitted to going to Minnesota (twice) to re-recruit him, and basically threw him under the bus by putting his weight out there for everyone to hear. Why would he put him on blast like that? Henderson is gone, and SC's already thin OL core just got even thinner (no pun intended)...

About 10 days ago TDHeysus posted part of an article where Henderson apparently noted he was 350.

ab2cmiller threw Kiffen under the bus 2 days ago posting Kiffin's sour grapes quote. Kiffin apparently finessed a commit with lie following NSD and now is incensed that Henderson would hold it against him by having the nerve to sit out a year rather than play for the coach whose pants are on fire.

According to Joe Schad via twitter:

"USC will release Seantrel Henderson from his national LOI today Lane Kiffin told me"

"former USC committ"

ha

It's too bad U$C was able to get rid of this team cancer in the making. Still, the less depth they have, the better.

Maybe someone can help me better understand this, but I don't think SC should have let him out of his LOI. I mean, his one big hold-up, he said, was the possible sanctions. SO he told the world that he wanted to wait until they were announced. Then, he gets an acceptable score on his ACT in April, and suddenly he signs his LOI, eben though the sanctions weren't announced. Ummmm, what happened to waiting for the sanctions???

And now that the sanctions are out and SC got hammered...NOW you want out? Dude, you knew that sanctions were a possibility, and you signed the dotted line anyway. And I don't care if Kiffy did lie and say the sanctions wouldn't be bad...everyone knows what a snake he is and both Seantrel and PapaSnoopDog signed anyway.

IMO, he screwed up, and so he must pay. I know he's just a kid, but football isn't a right, it's a privilege. He should have to sit out a year, go to college either at SC or whatever school he is going to end up at (not sure f that is legal, but for the sake of argument, let's say it is), but NOT be allowed to play football per the transfer rules. And next time maybe he and his daddy won't get in bed with a used car salesman.

The only thing I can think of, is that Kiffin released him on the condition that Seantrell doesn't say anything about his recruitment to the media or the public (in other words...he can't say that Kiffin promised him anything regarding the sanctions). I'd love to hear someone enlighten me and explain to me how USC is doing the right thing, because I just don't see it.

USC is gonna be short on recruits so why keep him on if he clearly does not want to be there. He will likeley transfer if he isnt released from his LOI. Now USC can take an EE and he will take Sentreal's place from last year instead of counting against there already limited slots in the future

USC Trojans release recruit Seantrel Henderson from letter of intent - ESPN Los Angeles

kiffin quote on releasing Henderson:

"We are releasing Seantrel Henderson out of his national letter of intent with zero penalties and no restrictions. Seantrel has been great through the whole process and we wish him the best of luck with his decision," Kiffin said."

Anyone who has followed this saga knows that Kiffin is full of shit when he said this about Henderson....he has been great thru the whole process? no one believes that...and everyone sees kiffin as saying more bullshit. Why not blast the kid and say he was not forthcoming in his recruitment? Why not say, this recruit didnt want to be here, so we let him out of his commitment? instead kiffin tries to blow hot air up everyones dress....Just like he did at Tennesse, just like he did on the recruiting trail, just like every interview he does now is all about how great everything is at USC, how great recruiting is, how everything at USC is business as usual. if recruiting is great, and its all business as usual, than that tells me that the sanctions werent strong enough.

Now this opens up a can of worms - Does USC extend the same offer to the other 2010 recruits of releasing them from their signed LOI's?

I think this kid is guilty of getting caught up in the whole rollercoaster that recruiting is. I just hope he learns from what has happened to him and learns from others (IE J Russell although his bank account looks better than mine does).

Slick Rick too...

The perfect year in my family (sis is a Bruin and the parents are lifer fans) has always been UCLA and ND beating SC in the same year... when did THAT happen last???

If I was a betting man I would bet huge money on your last paragraph being true. I can think of no possible scenario why USC would even remotely consider letting him out of his letter of intent unless they knew or had already received threats that the Henderson's would go public with embarassing lies that were told by Kiffin.
