#1 Recruiting Class

Oh, I thought this thread was about Miami Northwestern being Number 1 in failing....

They received another F for the accountability report, and their school is labeled a 'DROPOUT FACTORY' by Johns Hopkins.

41 out of 100 kids who go there as freshmen will ever graduate. This gives me pause for several reasons....

1) Why did I hijack this thread?
2) I guess the 'U' feels they are putting out quality college material
3) I'm guessing the teachers at Miami Northwestern feel they deserve a pay increase, and or unanimously opposed to pay based on performance.
4) There is no four, but I couldn't help myself.

I think in the end we will end up in the top 5 but not number one unless CW gets 3 more high quality guys...I think in the end Alabama will have the #1 class with the additions of Julio Jones and Alonzo Lawerence! I know most on here do not think being #1 is that big of a deal but just wait until you have to here about Saban being a god for all of February...I want the #1 class for the attention it will bring to ND and the incoming class!

there won't be any attention b/c the media won't even talk about it. they might make mention of ND in an article but the #1 thing will be far from highlighted. it's part of the conspiracy to keep the Irish down.

I have to admit that I do not put that much faith in the ever changing recruiting rankings, but JeremyND07 does bring up a good point that "bragging rights" have become significant. A coach who is considered a good recruiter, whether or not it transfers into wins (ex: Zook and Saban), will get some kids on reputation. CW and CB, even after one of the worst records in school history, are known now as good if not great recruiters. Players the experts say we could never get are now at the very least considering ND. Reputation is clearly a big advantage.

Flordia just jumped ND over on rivals as the #1 recruiting class with the addition of Omar...how ironic!!!! Now I really want the #1 class!!!! How is it that Flordia and Notre Dame both have 22 recruits and ND avg star is 3.95...FL is 3.86 but they are still ranked ahead of us?!?!?!

Wow...scout still has ND #1 and FL 6th...makes a lot of sense...ok I admit these ranking are total BS but still would be nice to beat out the Liar!!!!

I don't know exactly how they rate them but they said something about it is not just the stars it also accounts for if the teams needs were met........I believe ours were met more than most so............it still is confusing!

IMO, ND recruiting class being rated 1, 2, or 3 is not that big of deal. Just being "ranked" in the top few spots acknowledges that outstanding talent is coming in! Nuff said! BUT, if having the number 1 recruiting class is so important to ND's recruiting image, then it makes it that more important that Charlie and boys lock up a couple more 4 stars .... combination of KLM, Page and/or Martin. That should put them over the top as compared to UF's class.

Funny, on espn's recruiting page they are now reporting that Sutton's schollie was pulled for academic reasons. No mention of South Carolina.

Don't forget Urbie at FL...I think ESPN has his recruits the #1 class in the country. But his tactics in recruiting are apparently catching up with him as he is being investigated on his efforts contacting a potential recruit's girlfriend. He apparently was trying to lure her to Florida and bring her boyfriend along.

Suton wasn't listed on South Carolina's committment page at Rivals. As long as he's not going to Florida, that's all right with me. I wish Omar would go to Georgia.

looks like Florida might pass us up again, they just got a commitment from 4 star DE William Green of Alabama. He is the number 7 DE on scout and the number 7 OLB on rivals.
