well, when it happens, I hope Goshen updates the front page with Blanton's picture - Omar hasn't blinked in weeks and quite frankly, I feel like I'm being "mad dogged" by Omar everyday! LOL - sorry if the ghetto in me came out with the "mad dogg" reference. LOL! :mad:

Anyway, now that I threw this thread off track an hour ago, and even though no one else has asked the question, why tomorrow at 3 P.M., the reason is that Blanton is on campus without Mom and the e-Man who are both probably working today. He wants to do it tomorrow via conference call with CW & his parents so that they can all enjoy the moment together. Blanton is obviously a great kid as well as a great athlete, and will be an absolutely tremendous addition to the ND family.

Remember that Gary Gray will most likely have to redshirt next year, so Irish fans can look forward to Gray and Blanton playing together for 4 years, an absolute drop dead cover corner in Gray, and a physical keep them off balance corner in Blanton. What a combination. Throw in Harrison Smith, and possibly Danny McCarthy and Slaughter, and ND would have the talent, at least on paper, to go from one of the worst Defensive Backfields in the country to one of the best in just a few short years.

Oh Stoney!! Where are you?

Just to clarify Gold Helmet did not say that Blanton committed today. They said that he will commit in the "next couple days (or even hours)."

Stony, hide the rum, quick. :)

I already wrote the story and I'll move it to the front page tomorrow when I get home from work which will be a few mins after three.

I think Stoney is turning into the left wing main stream media. He is trying to create news in an attmept to pat himself on the back rather than report the truth. LOL!

--------He was probably passed out dreaming of Omar Hunter in a Michigan uniform on his couch with pringles scattered all over his chest when he heard his computer say "You've got mail."

That being said, he's invented the shirt plate.

I went ahead and made the changes tonight because now that I've seen RJ's stepdad's comments I feel comfortable in jumping the gun a little bit.

E-Man has garunteed Coach Brown that RJ will officially commiting to ND tomorrow, and that both he and his wife (RJ's mom) fully support him going to ND. He also stated that RJ's VT trip did nothing for him, and that he declined an invitation to return to their camp and informed them that they were no longer a choice. However that has not stopped their pressure on RJ and his family to change his mind.

Looks like RJ jumped the gun on the 3 P.M. announcement. As of 2:32 PM, according to Rivals, Blanton is Irish, officially.

Huzzah, #15.

You hear that sound? That distinct sound... the sound of sizzling?

That right there is the sound of Michigan getting burned , by yet another recruit that was a UM "lock".
:onfire::onfire::onfire::onfire:

Thank you Corwin . These kinds of recruits are the kind that can turn this ship around.
:worship2::worship2::worship2::worship2::worship2:

It certainly makes me feel better that you've switched over from the "dark side" of this rivalry, and are helping to take them down a notch one recruit at a time.
:starwars:

Alright, enough with the smilies for now.

Blanton was the first recruit that Corwin visited after spring practice concluded. He even brought the DB coach along with him, Coach Lewis. If that isn't an indication of where he was on his list of priorities, then I don't know what is. Feels great to have our foot in the door with defensive back commitments.

Since when is ND the Dark Side? Even a Sith Lord can find his way when lost. See Anakin/Vader

the scUM boards are already saying they didn't really need blanton and their are bigger fish still on their board. they're also predicting a higher finish in the recruiting rankings than the Irish one NSD roles around.

yawn.

What, were those bigger fish to fry Dan McCarthy and Jamoris Slaughter? 'Cause I don't think either one of them is headed to Ann Arbor.

To be fair, I wouldn't honestly expect a brutally negative response from any fanbase after bricking on a guy. They aren't going to say, "We needed this guy, now we're completely screwed even though its June." Its natural to be optimistic when its this early in the recruiting wars (and your head coach isn't Tyrone Willingham).

...but when you think/say that after bricking on guys they offered like Lane Clelland... and Omar Hunter... and John Goodman... and Braxston Cave... and Darius Fleming... and Dayne Crist... it starts to add up, and the "We'll be fine" attitude at least looks more like an act than a reality.

The only offer of ours they snagged was Brandon Moore - after we already had wrapped things up at TE with Fauria and Rudolph.

Oh yeah, they did offer Rudolph too, didn't they? :bigsmile:

Yawn indeed, wake me when they have a tangible point with their recruiting wars :sleep:
