Click on Notre Dame Football Recruiting to here a great interview with Brandon.
My impressions of the Newman interview:
1) I think in the past months we and others (for good reason) focused so much attention on Omar that Newman and Hafis were overlooked. Now we see that Newman is the focus at DT coming in with this class. I was very impressed with his interview.
2) This is the first interview I'd seen of him. I knew he liked ND and I also know he was still being recruited by other schools (esp.Kentucky) after committing to ND. I was really encouraged hearing what he had to say.
3) I love the fact that he has ND shaved in the back of his head and is getting a ND tattoo.
4) I love how he is a jokester and said Goodman is the funniest looking ND recruit.
5) I love how he is no joke on the field and is blowing up every O lineman they put in front of him.
6) It was music to my ears hearing what he said about people transferring and decommitting from ND
I feel bad for not giving this kid enough attention that he deserves in the past months due to Omar, but thrilled with his enthusiasm for ND and his overall personality. He has a very bright future at ND.
or he would just spear em out of disgust.
If Meyer or Mattison went to the game Saturday and tried to poach Newman I think he'd either laugh and walk away so they could see the ND on the back of his head, or he would just spear em out of disgust. I prefer the latter
I think I read something yesterday on Rivals that the number of ND commits playing in the AA game is record breaking. Anyone else see that?
Newman could possibly receive another star after the AA game. Sounds like he is deserving of it.
Was impressive in practice, but not the game

His game isn't making alot of tackles, rather clogging up the middle and I though he held his ground well in the game. I seen somewhere he was compared to Jerry Ball. I liked that comparison.
By the way, I meant to post an update on Pleasure Ridge Park defensive lineman Brandon Newman earlier in the week but I forgot.
I saw Brandon at the first round of the LIT and had a chance to speak with him.
Newman said he had a blast at the recent U.S. Army All-American Bowl and after a bit at the event he knew that he "belonged there" with the other top players.
I asked Newman if other schools were continuing to recruit him. He committed to Notre Dame last spring and has stuck with that decision.
Newman said UK coach Rich Brooks was at PRP recently but that he wouldn't meet with the coach because "I know I made the right decision."
He'll sign with the Fighting Irish on Feb. 6.
