I would not get too excited, but in either case, you should not have to wait too long to get an answer. GBW is reporting that Omar has told them he would be making his announcement tomorrow, not Tuesday, at 6 P.M. from his high school. On the surface this would not seem like good news for ND, but since GBW is the source, who knows.

Yeah... I'd be utterly suspicious if it were posted on the ND board by a Georgia fan, but at this point, I'm staying good and leery. Its not going to be too long of a wait.

But with that in mind, it would be really nice to land him, and focus on the DE's like Goebel, E. Johnson, K. Lewis-Moore, or even Aghayere. Doesn't make Forston such a priority. But you never know - they could pitch DE to Forston too. We'll find out soon enough though.

Hunter would be a huge for the NT for us in the 3-4. The guy is almost 300 pounds and he is not even a senior. Hopefully will we know either today or tomorrow.

It was actually originally posted on the Georgia board by a Georgia fan, then a different Georgia fan took it to the National Board. There is also a different story than that of GBW coming out about the announcement. The new story is that Hunter is supposed to let everyone know his decision today, but it may or may not be at a formal press conference. FWIW, the ND message boards are much more optimistic about Hunter to ND than they were Sweat to ND, and the Michigan boards are supposedly in a panic.

However, all of this means nothing until we hear direct from Omar himself what he has decided.

Wow, what an interesting start to the week. Up to this point I never considered Hunter as anything but a remote possibility. He would be a huge get for ND. Not going to hold my breath, but I am excited.

In answer to rockne19.

Everything that is being said about Omar for ND is mostly positive and so are all the inferences, but since most of the source material is from the Georgia board, it is all still somewhat suspect. More comments from the Georgia board this morning include a poster who claims to have personally spoken to Omar, and said that Omar has told him he will select ND, but again consider the source, this is just as likely to be a sham as the truth.

One thing in ND's favor from what I hear is that Omar as you know is from Darius Walker's High School, and his High School coach, who accompanied him this weekend, has a well established dislike for the Michigan program, and that is according to Michigan fans. Also, one long time ND poster who is not prone to being optimistic about these things at all, believes that Hunter will be Irish later today. For me, I'm going to wait and see before I start popping the champagne corks.

I'm at work but I can't help but get excited. Guess I gotta go to the liquor store on my lunch break to get a $7 bottle of Andre

I know he broke his leg recently -- will he miss all of next season?

FWIW, even the most negative ND posters are starting to climb on the Hunter bandwagon. There is one poster who is starting to think it is now possible, who last night was saying that it would never happen.

Forget about the posters though, Hunter has confirmed that he particularly hit it off with one of the two schools. This was one of the critical comments made by the original Georgia poster yesterday, and since Hunter is a life long self confessed Michigan fan, it's hard to fathom why he would make such a comment about Michigan.

Last word on his decision is it could be coming any time today, but could also be tomorrow. I'm still holding my corks, but I am limbering up my thumbs, just in case.

I think sombody in Georgia is pulling our leg. The young man will be going to his dream school (UM). Someone just wants to create suspense. I just don't want to get hurt.

No press conference today, however, Omar's coach, remember him, will be announcing Omar's choice to media outlets at 6 P.M. tonight. No media circus, ala Sweat, a coach who is supposedly anti-scUm making the announcement, and this info direct from Omar to an ND recruiting site. HMM!! Better keep those thumbs limbered up.

Still need to keep in mind that this would be a pretty stunning shock if Hunter picks ND, but if he does, I am once again warning ND fans in western Michigan to head east to Detroit, or north to the UP, because if this latest scUM recruiting loss to ND actually happens, there are going to be a lot of scUM fans ready to dunk themselves in Lake Michigan, maybe enough to tilt the whole western side of the state into the lake.

Interesting, no BIG announcement? maybe he isn't pulling ND's strings to create suspense. I hate getting my hopes up like this, but it'll give me something to look foward to when I get back home from the gym later in the day.

Do we know how his coach is going to release the info to the press?

No specifics other than not a press conference. Maybe some kind of conference call to the major recruiting sites, or maybe just one call to one recruiting site, and let them put the word out. In any case, if 6 P.M. is the announcement time, no matter who gets the news first, I'm sure we will know by 6:15, 6:30 at the latest.

No one seems to be sure that this was Farrell live today, or a replay of his last Thursday radio show. Also no one seems to know the specific comment that he made. If it is just his opinion, I will remind everyone that Farrell is the guy who on NSD morning predicted that ND would lose only 1 recruit that day, and his name would be Ian Williams. That was a good call, Mike.

Let's hope that what was said on the radio, whether it was from today or last Thursday, is only his opinion, which is usually incorrect.

That guy has zero credibility. Didn't he say Clelland was but locked up for Michigan as well? haha yeah exactly his name shouldn't even be mentioned with a serious tone here.

Omar personifies the word "nasty". Charlie needs to get personally involved in Omar's recruiting schedule. He will be a great asset in a ND uniform.

Farrell is a joke and is accurate as a weatherman. How hard is it to make a guess and be right half the time.

Omar is going to commit to a team in the midwest today. There I should be the scout.com new ND guy.

I love Rivals. ND wasn't even on his list this morning when I checked. They waited until now to put ND at the top, right above Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiichigan :) Good thing I'm never "busy" at work. I don't know what I'd do all day without ND recruiting

Leppy, as your potential future father-in-law, I am duty bound to correct you. You are confusing Rivals with Scout. Rivals has had ND listed in Hunter's profile for awhile. Until today, all of his schools of interest were of medium interest. Scout still does not list ND as a school of interest for Omar in his profile, even though the most recent story listed in his profile is that he will announce between scUM & ND today. I'm pretty sure the Scout guys sleep pretty much all day until somebody calls them to wake them up.

What is of interest is how Rivals listed the 2 schools, with ND on top. When someone has narrowed their choice down to two or three schools, they are usually listed in alphabetical order unless someone thinks that something is up.

The problem with Scout is that the ND site operators that might have a clue about ND offers have no ability to update the data base

IUB...thanks for correcting me. See...as a son-in-law I am open to constructive criticism. I did mix up Rivals and Scout. The both of them make me laugh. BTW IUB...what are the chances your daughter and I go on a date before you and I, I mean she and I, tie the knot?
