OSU, sure. Definitely rooting for A&M vs. Miami, but they aren't great.

Jack Swarbrick to step down in 2024

What was Swarbrick's role in producing this awful G5 arrangement where the top 5 ranked conference champions get in? I knew he was vaguely involved, but I heard on a podcast that he was one of four people who created it.

Yes, the integrity of college football! Where we would be without it? LOL

    2025 College Football Playoffs

I feel bad for him, and there were a dozen other reasons we lost the first two games. But yeah, that play is one of them, and it's the epitaph of his ND playing days.

Yeah, I can't wait to practice and play an exhibition game to make money for a league and network that spent the last month trashing our team. No thanks.

How did FSU benefit in 2023? I don't see how we benefit by playing the game. We risk injuries. Etc. We don't need the money. As for sending a message, do you think the committee next year will care about that? We over-performed in the playoffs last year. Did the committee care?

    2025 College Football Playoffs

It's pretty clear from the events of today and the past week that this is a corrupt process driven by money, threats, media campaigning, etc. ND has to show it can push back, too. They feared leaving out Bama and Miami more than us, for whatever reason. Again, the ranking isn't about finding the...

I like Saban too, but it's also like- coach, that game happened more than three months ago. We lost by 3. Bama lost by 21 yesterday. It's so insane.

    The Pete Bevacqua Thread

Pete is going around talking about how starting next year ND has a "guaranteed spot" if we're ranked in the top 12 or top 14 or whatever. The committee would just drop us below the threshold if they wanted to keep us out. Making this sound like a coup and a meaningful change is extremely naive.

Time for new partner: Big 10 or SEC?

They've said that? How do we know that?

Also a lawyer. It depends on the language in the contract, but it's rarely a good idea to deliberately breach a contract unless you are prepared to pay damages. ND could argue that it has good cause to leave before 2036 whatever, but (again) it would depend on the terms in the contract.

    Both did tbh

    Big Ten, no question

Marcus Freeman named Dick Corbett Head Football Coach

If MF were going to leave for the NFL, that wouldn't turn on whether we got into the playoffs or not. People can make fun of Eville Irish but -let's be candid- pessimism hasn't gone unrewarded here, given today's events. Also, Kalshi was like 95% ND is in around noon, iirc. So it isn't always...

    2025 College Football Playoffs

This means nothing. Committee just dropped us from 9 to 11 for no reason. They will just stick us at 13 or whatever if they want us out.

Players voted apparently. Good for them

Right. Did they watch the game yesterday?

    2025 College Football Playoffs

I agree with the earlier posters, they will just drop us to 13 if they want to keep us out. It's no protection at all if it turns on where we are ranked.

    2025 College Football Playoffs

Certainly agree. A&M was the worst loss I've seen since following ND (2013) and this confirms that.

    2025 College Football Playoffs

Yeah, I agree. But two 10-2 teams got in. And then a 10-3 team that lost by 21 yesterday.
