Crystal Palace is badddddd. That said, with the deal basically done to get rid of Alexis, I wonder if a cloud has been lifted from over all our players. Plus apparently Ozil wants to stay?!

You're exactly right about Ramsey. You get him right behind the striker, and that's where he hurts teams. Plus you have Lacazette to throw in there. Really nice to see Wilshere having a (so far) healthy campaign. I'd love to see another CB and someone to spell either Bellerin or Kolasinac...

Desperately needed too. Still bitter than Ozil and Sanchez will leave. When they arrived, I thought it was the start of a turn around for Arsenal. Maybe them leaving will be. Mkhitaryan and Auba would be super interesting considering how we are playing of late.

It's intriguing. Scrap the minor league system, instead those teams are just lower levels, and can fight for pro/rel. Would prevent teams from stockpiling young talent, instead they could be dispersed across the country and throughout all levels.

What are the chances of MLS adopting a promotion/relegation format. With the recent expansions, MLS could continue until reaching, say 30, and divide into two 15 team levels. I doubt it would happen in the US, and I think it would be a tough sell to all the MLS teams as well. Though it would...

He's certainly playing like it. To think he's only 22 as well.

A shame really. They've done well as of late, for Ireland at least. Been competitive and pushed some tough teams. Could really use an infusion behind those at the senior level to keep a run going.

With the recent success of the Irish National Team, even with missing WCQ, do you think the Irish League will gain more funding or no? Obviously, most/all very good Irish Internationals will end up in England playing, but as you mention about it being a relaunching pad, it could definitely act...

I don't follow the Scottish league, and while an Arsenal fan (akin to being an ND fan as of late) I find myself rooting for Celtic a lot if that's any consolation... haha

Allardyce is intriguing. He organizes his teams, gets them to play hard, and seems like a guy the players want to do so for. Could be the guy that builds the team back up. I like the comparison to the O'Neill's.

That's a problem across the board in reality, not just soccer. It's a shame... You think 5,6,7 year old kids really care THAT much about winning? Will they be upset if they lose? Sure they will, but take them home and an hour later they're in the yard playing, or something. Teach the...

That's the first thing, is being cognizant of good coaching. Many parents are ill-informed about the coaching. What's their experience, goals, etc. Parents, it seems, are more and more living vicariously through their children. It's the parents that want them to earn an athletic scholarship/go...

    Everything Soccer

You're right. It doesn't happen as much here. The problem with specialization, in the US, is that it's pay for play, the coaches promise the world but are only a parent or sleezeball looking to get money, is done so in a keeping up with the Jones's type of way, and more.

Futsal would be massive. We absolutely lack creativity and deftness comparatively to many top tier countries. I'm not sure if we have a inferiority complex, or if it's apathy and lack of fandom throughout the country. I think (this is a generalization) many parents, especially fathers, don't...

I don't think we lack a talent pool per se... It's the lack of quality coaching and academies. Like I said earlier on this page, four years ago there wasn't a lack of talent on that roster, even without Donovan. They could play with any elite team, though some would be worse matchups than...

Anyone else feel like having guys come back to the MLS for playing time over competing in Europe hurt somewhat as well? Or is that merely a symptom of the larger problem of the lack of development in general?
