Have some faith in Marcus Freeman.
I have faith in freeman in a lot of areas. I expect the team to be energized and locked in.

But after the BYU game I completely lost faith in his and his coordinators ability to have a good game plan and make appropriate adjustments where needed. How you defend and attack BYU is the complete opposite of what ND did on both sides of the ball. Just maddening.

I hope they learned from it, but I'm in a wait and see spot now.

Oh, I understand sports just fine. I also understand message board posters playing amateur psychologists. You are a blowhard.
Tell everyone you don't know sports without telling everyone........ For a second time in a row.

Referencing psychology for simple sports 101 says a lot. If it's raining hard, the ball becomes slippery. You don't need to be a surface physicist to know that.

Insane, yes 100%. ND has one of the if not the most talented and experienced rosters returning a Heisman hopeful QB, your HC and both coordinators, and an easy schedule. Now instead, we have a completely unexpected and unnecessary play in game Nov 7th. Yep, that's pressure. Everyone at ND is pretty much on at minimum final four or bust to championship win or bust. There's a probability the season is over if you lose nov 7th, yep insane pressure. It's not like losing your 2nd game week 3 last year where there's so much left to play, you can try and prove yourself, and so much can happen.

The pressure on ND vs Miami is felt mentally from the second they lost to BYU until the game starts Nov 7th.
So I guess the two options are to agree with your constant over-reactionary and often hyperbolic stances
Or
You minimize everyone’s point of view as having no knowledge of sports.
Checks out.

These guys aren't five, pressure isn't that big of a factor.

Miami getting home at 4am on the other hand is a big one.

I love having conversations/debates on topics but need to put the name callers and people that try to take personal shots in their place.

What do you think 90% of players on a football team are doing Saturday night after a game, especially a win?

ND probably had their most locked in performance of the year on a short week where the team got home Monday morning at 2-3am. Yes it was against rice, but the team was locked in ready to go.

The pressure is probably mostly on ND but honestly that seems to be when we play the best under Freeman. If anything, Miami knowing they have the playoffs in their back pocket could work in our favor. Miami football, historically and under Cristobal, tends to get bored and unfocused at some point in the season and they have mental lapses. Football is a game usually won and lost in the margins and the 6 inches between the ears.

That said, I wouldn’t count on that per se because Cristobal fucking hates us, but it is human nature to start to get a little soft mentally when you feel secure.

Was that wrong? Should I have not done that? I tell you I gotta plead ignorance on this thing because if anyone had said anything to me at all at first communion that that sort of thing was frowned upon, you know, cause I’ve attended a lot of churches and I tell you people do that all the time.

Marcus’ presser also embodied why he has the culture he does though. He holds himself accountable, and he holds his players and coaches accountable. He however, does not do anything but support and positively reinforce his players and coaches with the media or publicly. Any slight criticisms are always hedged with stronger praise for the player, their ability, or their attitude. He puts building trust and buy in from his team and staff before giving the media the answers they are hoping to hear. I can live with that. Also agree with whoever said he just is such a genuine person that its blatantly obvious and uncomfortable when he is bending or manipulating the truth at all.

One of the best scenes of that series.

The moment Marcus is as honest as some want him to be, they'll accuse him of throwing people under the bus. I have faith the mistakes were watched, the ass chewings were had, and a plan was put in place to try to do better. Whether that can be done with certain current coaches/players, guess we'll find out.
