Check in to see how we are all doing after last night breaking our hearts. I know after the game I drank prolly 6 THC drinks & watched a lot of wrestling, dragonball, & the big bang theory to make me laugh or just take my mind off of it. Woke up annoyed this morning and decided since I ain’t doing anything what a better day to wake and bake to get the same sorts of feelings flowing. But I want to check in on my fellow Irish fans today just to see how we are all holding up.

Starting my first day of 6 -12's and still pissed. Tired of the same ole same ole. Tired of giving the media and Irish haters more ammo to hate us.

It’s just football. I’ll never not love it or live and die with my teams. The sun came up. Went to church with the family.

I shouldn’t probably let a bunch of 18-24 year olds impact my mindset like I do, but I guess that’s being a fan.

The mark of this team is where they go from here, so I guess we find out in the coming weeks what kind of stones they have and what abilities the staff has to figure things out.

I’ll be optimistic, but not overly confident.

Yeah unfortunately the downside is the haters are right after last night. We can still do something about it but while I’m always going to love ND football i just feel like if we can’t even make the playoffs this year maybe I just gotta accept I’ll never see a nattie in my lifetime. Also FWIW guys if you need some cash for a beer or an edible DM me I got you. I don’t want the fucking money I have now :(

It’s hard to imagine the willingham and Weis eras not breaking my spirit, but this shit doing it…

I’m getting too old for this. I’d like us to get our cignetti and have a season we all deserve. But it’s probably not going to happen.

Got to go enjoy watching my 5 year old skate this morning. A nice reminder of what really matters and watching him improve as a hockey player at such a young age is so much more important than the frustration last night.

Still pretty grumpy when my mind drifts to last night though.

One of my closest friends and her husband threw a very nice birthday party last night so I only watched the last 10 minutes, at a lively, packed bar where the game was on a TV and I was basically the only person who cared. When it was over I downed a couple of Jamesons and called one of my old roommates while I walked home.

I am disappointed, but I've also lived with Notre Dame Football for 30 years and seen far worse. Life goes on and it's a lovely fall day here in Boston so I'm gonna go outside now. Like Mac said, the real test is what happens next. I have faith in us.

Every year I tell my wife I’d like to see them win at least one natty in my lifetime. Just one. I’m 35. Born 1991, a few years after their most recent.

And every year they have a game or two that makes me question the entire organization and whether they will ever actually get over the hump.

But the bright spots are brighter. It still somehow feels like they’re one of the best teams in the country. Coaching staff very much needs to figure it out, but that’s solvable.

And so I’m doing okay. Still hopeful, but less certain. I try to remind myself that eventually all teams except one will eliminated from natty contention & will experience the same feeling of defeat. Winning it all is damn hard. But that can’t be an excuse for what this coaching staff put on display last night.

Sucks. Just don’t care as much as I used too. Came to realization a couple years back it’s just never going to happen in my lifetime. Frustrating but Is what it is. Hope yall have a great Sunday! Go touch some grass and enjoy the day.

Watching the game was relatively easy. Reading the boards is hard. I swear half the guys here could have the best wife on the planet and murder her and the hot friends she lets them sleep with for overcooking dinner.

I'm tired, boss.

We had a very off night, but are we also who they (haters and national media) said we are?

Idk

But, the possibility that we might be is depressing as fuck.

An ND title is the only thing I really care about it sports at this point.

I am 43 and had a minor health scare this week. Thankfully it was probably nothing serious. But, it gets you to thinking, ya know?

It's irrational to care this much about the results of a game, but this is the life we have chosen.

I hate to say this because I love all yall & we all need to be there for each other in this fandom. But what’s helping me not be a grumpy person today is talking to and burying myself in things totally unrelated to football. This is a day where I’m making it a point for a total wrestling and nerd day with the people I’m talking to. So all of that and these lovely thc drinks and my dog being very cuddly today are helping.

Im at the point in my life where I guess I really dont give a shit anymore. Been an Irish fan as long as I can remember watching on Saturdays and the Bears on Sunday with grandpa since those were his teams. Seen the 88 Natty at 9 years old, but those memories are quickly fading. I really thought Freeman was the guy to do it for us. Had 0 confidence that Davie, Willingham, Weis, or Kelly could ever get it done. These have been the most talented teams that I have seen in awhile, and I guess that keeps me coming back

Numb. I know the narrative against ND is going to heat up led by Kirk. Running the table is hard, and I hope this resets the deck. It’s fuck or walk the rest of the way.

Yeah I was 10 during the last natty run. Freeman I thought could be the one, but man. Burning a timeout after the 2 minute timeout. The offensive play calling and defensive lapses has me wondering.

Thought we had taken a step as a program but…. Sigh, back to being the team with the “best loss” as our defining resume attribute for the playoffs argument.

Guess I’m more partial to the 24 team playoffs now than I was yesterday, knowing that we’ll always be 10-2 losing our only difficult games year in year out.

Yup, I'm now hoping BYU wins out and Miami only loses to us so we can say we lost to the #1 team and beat the #3 team. I do the same mental coping gymnastics eventually every season.

This is one of the few threads I've chose to read today. From past experience I know that most of the threads are filled with massive overreactions. Zero chance I open up the Postgame thread, Denbrock thread or Ash thread.

It did take awhile for me to relax enough to fall asleep last night. Fell asleep around 1:30 am.

Went to church this morning and found out that God is still on the throne.

Obviously disappointed but still very hopeful for what the rest of the season holds. Tough losses like this usually result in me logging onto IE a little less frequently over the next two weeks as it just reminds me of the pain from Saturday.

I’ve been hurt too many times by this team to get upset anymore. Just disappointed and went from thinking we have a really good chance to win a title this year to hopefully we can make the playoffs.
This. It's the same thing every year. We are used to it.

We suck...everyone needs to be fired and we're 9-3 at best. Miami is going to own us!
Until...we beat Miami and go 11-1 with a first round bye then We're gonna win it all again baby! This is the team! We can compete with anyone...I never gave up hope.
It's fine. Fact is... your 4 best defensive players were compromised. Get healthy, play more than 3 receivers, Walton n James 1-2 punch...we're in the Semis
