Never felt better about our title chances. OL and blocking scheme was outstanding. We ran at will for 5 yards as long as we wanted with James/Jonaz.

Not worried about the defense. I trust them and Ash.

Feel so much better about our offense.

I didn’t get to see any of the game which makes things easier. Good win. The highlight of Faisons TD looks great.

A practice in frustration,… a win is a win.

Worth owning this is a game the last three coaching regimes probably lose.

Downfield passing game looks great.

We absolutely need to show more zone on D bc BYU and UM will find ways to beat the nearly constant man coverage.

Ok, I’m willing to admit AWill has been passed up. But I’m also not in the ‘bench him’ camp.

It was good seeing JGreat get meaningful throws. Concerning MG did not tho.

Amazing to think Everyone’s fav lacrosse player was a walk on, my goodness.

If they kicked that fg they win 59- 13,… fight me.

Ok, now I’m really watching Miami tonight,… how serious is that threat???

Weather was terrible, bunch of weird stuff happened and they had a kickoff return touchdown. It was the perfect recipe for an upset and still there was probably only a few minutes of game time where it felt like they might actually lose

Flush that turd of a defensive performance, not even remotely worried about it going forward. It was stinky, they still only gave up 3 touchdowns

241 yards on the ground against a competent front 7…..that’s the stuff

A win we stay undefeated.

Walton and James are 1-2 anything else is a failure from the staff.

Passing game in the first half good.

That’s about all the good that occurred.

Defense was average.

Coaching decisions not the best.

Special weren’t good.

A very average game.

1. Best game that the OL has played, and run game was elite with both James and Walton. Extremely encouraging and we needed it in those conditions.

2. Probably the biggest stinker we have seen from Ash in awhile. That is not a good offense and they put together three good drives by picking on specific guys. 3rd down defense was also pretty poor at key junctures. I think we will know by BYU whether this a "woopsies" or if it's a blueprint for teams to attack the defense. They also really struggled to get home with blitzes relative to past weeks.

3. Special teams cannot cost you points like that. The kickoff return was the worst coverage I have seen from ND in ages. They were completely outnumbered on the side of the field where he returned it and went basically untouched. Dropped snap on extra point, dropped snap on punt, ran into the punter, etc. etc. To be aggressive you first have to be CLEAN.

4. Play like total ass and still win by double digits on the road, thank god for talent differential.

Score doesn’t tell the whole story.

We were very clearly the better team. Almost doubled them up in yards. It really come down to a bad defensive drive to end the first half and the kick return for their points.

Couple all of that with not taking the points before half and we have a closer than really was game.

Rushing attack was much better, rush defense was still elite. CJ and Faison are unstoppable together. This could easily have been a 45-21 game where no one thinks it was close. But hey, win your clunkers.

Don’t wet the bed too hard tonight boys.

It wasn't as close as the score made it seem. A bit sloppy at times. Defense had an off night. We ran the ball well. Carr was great. Special teams was not great. Still won by double digits.

This is where I’m at. I think Petrino had a great game plan, and until I see multiple teams do that too us I can’t be worried about the most talented backfield in CFB

1.) On Faisons second TD, we’ve run that quick 1/4-1/2 roll go/out combo a bunch this year. The out route has always been there. We went back to it in a big moment, corner tried to jump the out.

Glad we have a QB who doesn’t predetermine his throws.

2.) Walton looked great. James also looked good. Great to see the o line take over a game. I wasn’t sure they had it in em short of Augustine coming back as the missing link.

3.) Irish win and Michigan loses. Thats always a great weekend. Go Irish ☘️

- Carr. Heisman.
- Walton. RB1.
- Faison. Explosive.
- OL. Improving.

Going for it on 4th was the right move. The third and 4th down plays were not. Shoehorning Freeman in here as well. 3 timeouts absolutely need to be used in those last 8 minutes. Get Knapp back in. Defense a break. Something.

- DEs got frustrated by some big OTs. Something to note. Interior rush wasn’t as strong as normal either. LBs, whatever fine overall. Bowen picked on a few times but it’s gonna happen.

- Secondary didn’t play well outside Talich. I thought they didn’t pay extra attention to Thurman. He deserved extra attention. Almost seemed vanilla scheme wise live. I’m willing to be wrong on that if see it back again.

Nothing I think will carry over per se defensively or that we didn’t already know except maybe the pass rush coming down to earth.

This game felt like a less happy 2022 game against UNC. We were the better team & overall we played like the better team. On the flip side a few bad plays made it closer than it actually was/shouldve been. So the box score doesn’t show how much better we played than them that day.

-I feel bad for Biagi. He is going to get a well-deserved ass-reaming. I suspect we will never perform that poorly on ST again under Freeman.
-NC played chippy the whole game and tried to bait our guys. The Ausberry call was bullshit but ACC refs...
-Not sure why McKinney wasn't playing much. The secondary had their worst game in 2 seasons and the LB's were a tad slow in drops and blitzes.
-Loved how dominant we were running the ball today. Walton is on the cusp of something big.
-Every great team wins a clunker. Review the tape, remedy the mistakes and go beat the shit out of Stanford to have momentum against the Mormons.
