Moore I believe is actually known as a very vocal leader.

Either way the returning captains + Carr probably ran away with votes, Freeman decided on 4 this year. Shrug.

I do remember that players have to want to be a captain and nominate themselves. J Love didn’t nominate himself. I could see Moore doing something similar. KVA hasn’t been a full time starter and have two LBs would be something. Knapp surprises me

Comments have been made about Moore's, Knapp's, and KVA's relative "lead-by-example" characters.

So, none of those are surprises for me. Not seeing Craig there is.
Love Craig, but who is the last player who hasn't made it through a full season been named captain?

I kind of understand the Craig & injury business, but Craig has been the OBVIOUS OLine leader vocally, even when recuperating. Even the staff picks him to get in front of the media.

Just my opinion I think 2 more will get named captain before the season starts- Knapp and Moore.

CJ is going to have many options for WR this year it seems like the noise Graham was making early on, Gilbert now is.

I like how Aneyas isn't being talked about...yet. He has the attitude of just wait until I show you what I can do on the field.

8 more days.

Grinding with your teammates in the offseason is a big part of earning votes to be captain.

He was injured and probably limited his participation - not his fault, but may have played a role.

I won't say no, but it doesn't ring true with the comments I've heard from the OLine gang.

If I wanted to make something up, I'd go with Rudolph and Freeman going psychoanalysis, and thinking "if we name Craig captain, surely that affects the dynamic between he, Otting, and Abshur. Those other two will think that whatever they do, Craig is taking one of the two spots."....... sounds too "clever" to be true, though.

Too often "Captain" simply goes to the best players on the team. That should not be how it is, I am fine with the 4.

Freeman has chosen the number in the past based on the separation of votes:
1. 96
2. 87
3. 85
4. 81
5. 54

Only 4 Captains in this example.

Based on his press conference today, yes. He indicated that there were 5 players (Players 5-9) in that next group that were all within a couple votes. So he had to decide between either 4 or 9 captains; he thought 9 would be too much.

4 is a good number. Wish we had an ol captain but the 4 chosen are definitely worthy

This year is really going to test MF...the expectations are high and the press is picking ND. Holtz was the master of leveraging that...let's see how MF does.
