Ummmmmm they do know the story, right?

To be fair, some people are confusing the Odyssey with the Illiad, but that story isn't much happier! Odysseus was tortured, forced to sleep with a witch for quite awhile, spent 10 years trying to get to his destination, a bunch of shmucks kept trying to sleep with his wife during that time, got his crew killed, and finally didn't come back home till he was basically an old man. So, yeah, good job Chad!

I saw somewhere where Fox Sports just eviscerated USC for that post, basically reiterated what we've already pointed out here. Couldn't happen to a nicer football program  I forgot to point out in my list above that the Odyssey basically starts with Troy LOSING the war to the Greeks, whereby Odysseus' journey home begins. San Jose St, you know what to do!

Well I don't know if the Fighting Irish should lecture anyone on adopting the banner of noble losers. Did they ever win a battle against anyone other than each other?

The Fighting Irish banner wasn't a random selection from the mascot barrel. It is part of the school's roots. Despite derision, prejudice, and coordinated attempts at undermining, ND fought through to become the great University that exists today. That is what our banner says. ND took a taunt, turned it around, and showed what excellence can be.

As I type that out, I realize that USC chose a mascot to fit itself as well. A rich little kingdom on the beach full of hubris. They also seem addicted to Trojan horses like Riley and Chad,
