If anyone has the benefit of the doubt it’s Seider tbf
I'm still not sure if he's a ND-level recruit (under Freeman), but I agree, I'll give Seider the benefit of the doubt. I live in MA and he's hard to get the best read on because his team doesn't play the hardest schedule, and over half of their games are blowouts.

Based on the timeline here, they must have wanted this kid over everyone left on the board. Otherwise you wouldn’t push him to commit when you are still very much in the running for other 4 star guys. If anything, you have the luxury of holding out for the guy you want with a RB already in the bag.

I went to Springfield College. When I was there, they were easily the best and top team in western Mass (I think mostly because the level of competition isn’t great). I assume that’s still the case. The program has sent a decent amount of guys D1 over the years. I’m not sure Springfield Central is a ND fit either. But, in Seider we trust.

I’m surprised this will be a 2 RB class. No one is running out of eligibility after this season, but they’re preparing as if they’re expecting someone to leave. 7 scholarship RBs? Slim chance no one enter the portal.

Rivals had Rogers ranked as the #4 RB in the 2027 class last fall. They dropped him to 20. The recruiting sites love football in shorts, so maybe they punished him for not doing the camp circuit?

But Seider could do MUCH worse than a guy with offers from Georgia, Michigan, Penn State, Florida, and IU.

When you watch his film do you see a top 4 RB or even top 15?

I won’t go on after this cause he’s likely joining the class but I have no idea how he’s a take for ND.

More or a safe rb than anything. Work with me here…given the other back we took for 27, Walton and Osborne, is this our safe back? Meaning if he stays all 4 years, cool. If he transfers out, that works too. Hard to get 4 top notch rbs in 2 classes

Agreed, thought we could be more patient than to fill up the room so early for this class, and was hoping we could leverage the unique position of having top 2 rb in this years draft as a sales pitch to aim for a more elite prospect at RB.

Still can, the staff has shown a willingness to “upgrade” throughout a cycle.

Irvin and the 2 rbs from James class lol
Ah yes, Daniel Thurman and Daniel Anderson got "processed", thought maybe that had to do with RB staff change, but that was pre Seider. Nonetheless, with Segarra seeming to favor ND and with the OU RB commit visiting this wknd, Im surprised we would take Rogers commitment now.

I think that was a combination of bad evals and Deland mailing it in.

Correct. Anderson had a good camp or something but did terrible playing actual football. I also think Bowden had some say with targeting them

I went back and to be fair there is quite a bit of 247 articles about him the last 4 months and ND. Just oversight on our parts it didn’t hit the board. He was also close with PSU staff so knew those guys we just hired most likely. This isn’t as random as it appears.

I don’t think you can compare Rogers to Thurman / Anderson when he has a committabe offer from Georgia.

Price was 16th overall rb and williams was 13th.

I have confidence in our OL to give our future rbs the best opportunity to succeed.

Stack top 20 positional talent and put a competent qb with them and we'll continue to be at the top.

200+ lb backs that are running the 100 in 10.5 dont grow on trees, so thats a big positive.

Don't forget that Love, the Spring of his junior year wasn't known and was ranked a 3 star at that point.

With a 100m time of 10.5 and a 55M time of 6.6, he’s likely a legit 4.4 guy.

A bit of an unusual choice to include the logos of the schools he is choosing from while entirely omitting a pic of himself in the announcement

Didn’t we process that Limar kid that went to Oregon so we could take Love?
He wasn't processed as much as he began looking and we weren't like super aggressive in trying to lure him to stay. Lost him and Edwards that class
