My only complaint was that while they did a nice segment on the Pacers and how everyone considered them the best, I was disappointed they didn't say a lot about Roger Brown or Big Mac. It was fun to see a lot of former players I watched play against the Pacers.

Dr. J loved playing in the ABA.
If you have not read Loose Balls by Terry Pluto, do so.

Been around enough on this board again to know you'd probably like this book.

Watched the first 3 episodes of season 2 of Paradise. This show is taking a Lost like turn it would seem. Pretty sure this is going to be largely about time travel by the end of the season.

Watched E1 of Marshalls starring Luke Grimes. Spinoff of Yellowstone. Based in the same location with several other characters from Yellowstone, Tate Dutton, Thomas Rainwater and Mo with a lot of references to Yellowstone and the Dutton family. You can tell Sheridan is hands off with this series. A lot of the scenes were basically a copy & paste of NCIS, FBI, Criminal Minds, etc. where everyone in the scene has a part where they say something. Show wasn't bad, but don't expect Yellowstone.

Yeah it wasn’t great, which sucks because Kayce is my favorite Yellowstone character.

The Last Drive In’s series finale airs tonight, Shudder just announced… I remember complaining on this board years ago how I couldn’t get old Monstervision episodes anywhere and here we are at the end of another Joe Bob show,… someone REALLY needs to do a blue ray compilation of his stuff

I finished Ricky Gervais' After Life today. It was different, but really good. Well worth the watch. Great cast of weird characters surrounding him as he navigates his way through the grief and anger and loneliness of losing his wife. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would very much recommend.

Loved this guy ever since the speech he gave and called out all the pedos in Hollywood. Mad props.

I've spent the past two weeks binge watching Silicon Valley. Not sure how I missed it when it was coming out, but Jared Dunn might be my favorite character in television history

I've been watching an underappreciated comedy from 25+ years ago, Freaks And Geeks. I'd never seen a single episode until I decided to binge watch it on the advice of my oldest daughter. It's a great show! Bad time slot and promotion killed it after one season, but the cast was awesome and it does a great job of capturing the high school experience of the late 70s to early 80s. Well worth the watch.

I thought this was well done and entertaining. The best episodes are everything from the beginning up to when Gruden gets fired. The Brady stuff is pretty good, too, but call it recency bias.

I remember in the 80s filling out the confidence pool as a kid and always putting the highest number on whoever the Bucs were playing. They were so bad. And in the NFC Central too.

Those Dungy and Gruden defenses were incredibly good. A lot of coaches went through this organization and went on to head coaching jobs.
Ronde Barber is very underappreciated. I was a big Hardy Nickerson fan, too.

Over the weekend, the wife and I watched several shows on DB Cooper. Still fascinates me to this day that no one knows who he is. Did he survive given they never found the parachutes, him or the money? After all these years you would think someone would say something or he would have slipped up. Robert Rackstraw seems to be the most logical candidate.

I don't think we'll ever figure it out. Particularly since the FBI has closed the case.

Has anyone watched The Man In The High Castle, a 4-season dystopian drama about what if the Axis powers had won WWII and divided the US between Germany & Japan? I'd never even heard of it until tonight, but the ratings and reviews are exceptionally good. I'm wondering if it's mostly just good storytelling or more preachy and political like The Handmaid's Tale.

First two seasons were great and sizzled out

Thanks. Most of the reviews I read were glowing, but a couple said the same as you, that the first two seasons were awesome but then it went south after that.
What you're imagining in your head for the possibilities of the concept is more entertaining than the actual show. It's decent. We gave up around season 2. Just became a slog.

That's what I'm afraid of. The concept is great, but does it live up to it? Several reviews call it a slow burn instead of an edge of your seat type show. I'll probably give it a shot at least, but sorta half expecting to be like you and give up on it eventually. I couldn't finish Hannibal, The Handmaid's Tale, Fear The Walking Dead, or the reboot of Dexter because they just became boring and a chore to watch.

I haven't watched any of the others but I agree with Handmaid. We started that when it was first airing so now we're just continuing on when new seasons drop out of a sense of duty. If we binged it after the fact no way we would have gotten through the whole thing. Elizabeth Moss might be the most annoying main character I can think of. Also all the guys fighting over a solid 3 breaks my immersion constantly.

How did she get to do so much TV/acting? She started in West Wing as a teen. She must be someone's daughter.

I decided to put The Man In The High Castle off for a while and started something else: Godfather Of Harlem starring Forest Whitaker. I'm three episodes in, but already hooked. It's about 60s drug kingpin Bumpy Johnson and has a great cast. Bumpy was the boss and mentor of Frank Lucas, played by Denzel in American Gangster. Whitaker is such a phenomenal actor and this looks like a great show so far.
