Yep! Definitely an enormous blow for Canada. No two ways about it.

That said, you won't hear me using the absence of Crosby and Morrissey as an excuse. The task gets that much harder against an American team that's playing great hockey, but injuries are part of the game. You gotta play with the guys you have. The Americans were dealt similar cards in the 4-Nations final when they had to play without Jack Hughes, Quinn Hughes and Charlie McAvoy.

Here is to hoping it's a great game!

Great backcheck by Matthews. As much shit as he catches for Toronto not being abke to get it done under his leadership, he's undoubtedly one of the best defensive centers in the NHL. Dude always hustles back and finds the threat in the middle of the ice!

I’m a fan and watch a lot of hockey but regionally there’s just a couple teams I rarely get to watch,… the Wild might be the kings of that dynamic so getting to see Boldy was a nice positive of this tourney and,…. I have been less than impressed,… until that Mario- like play there.

that first score for team USA was huge in 1st because it looks like it'll be hard going into 2nd and 3rd getting anything into the net

Zero room to move out there. Both teams with excellent coverage in the D-zone and through the neutral zone. The individual effort from Boldy was really the only tangible difference. Very evenly played!

After watching the replay of the Wilson hit on Larkin and the way Dylan's head hit the boards, I'm extremely grateful that he got up. That could have easily been a devastating injury and a huge loss for the Red Wings.

Complete dominance by Canada in the second period to tie it up, but they should have had a couple more. Helle was fantastic in net for you guys. The only reason this isn't a 3-1 Canadian lead.

Make no mistake though, USA will find another gear in the 3rd period and this is going to be an absolute nail biter... As one would expect when these two teams matchup.

Fantastic hockey gents!

He's the only reason this game isn' 4-1 and already over. He's finally living up to his ability in a big moment. He's been unreal. Total credit where it's due.

WTF, are the figure skating judges reffing the 3rd period? That was like 10 seconds of too many men...

Oh my god.... That's a penalty, of course... But a clear accident. A 4 minute penalty with 6 minutes left is insane bad luck...

As the prophecy was written...Overtime again.

Another 20 minutes of dominance from Canada, but eventually these missed opportunities are going to come back to haunt them. USA is going to hit them with a counter attack and it's going to be game over.

Team Canada has absolutely no excuses. They've had about 10 chances to cement the win and between Helle and poor finish, they've left the Americans in the game.

Wish it was 5-on-5 overtime. Would rather the team who wins it do so inside the normal structure of the game. Just a bit of a purist in that sense.
