What book(s) are you reading?

I've read them all. The Godfather's revenge, and return by Mark Winegardner are pretty good and I enjoyed how he continues to tell the Corleone family stories in other cities. I enjoyed them all but none are quite like the original. Mostly because Mario didn't write them. Check out the Sicilian, The last Don, and Omerta by Puzo tho. It's been awhile since reading them all but if I recall correctly, I enjoyed those more than the Godfather spin-offs. The Sicilian is loosely in the same Corleone universe and had a movie made of it with John Turturro so you might already be familiar with it.

Yeah I looked into all of them,… just went with TCF simply because it seemed like the next logical step in the story,… we will see from there

I'm a big fantasy horror/Sci-fi guy so SK is one of my faves. I have a bad habit of purchasing more books that I can read and my collection of his was getting rather long.

Finally cut down on that list over the holidays. Read the Mr. Mercedes trilogy and kept going in that universe with his Holly Gibney solos ("Holly" and "Never Flinch"). The latter two are good, but SK gets uncharacteristically political in those, so might turn some people off.

I read the lesser dead over the break,… very much enjoyed it. In fact Buelman is becoming my favorite horror author

I want to re-read to see if I do better with that Italian chapter...but its so long.

I finished it in roughly two weeks. The story was so good, I was reading until bedtime and then waking up an hour+ early to sit on the couch, drink coffee and read. I strongly suggest reading it again and pushing through that one part, because the payoff is worth it!

It's been 25 years since I read it, but yeah, the book is excellent. Have you ever read Six Graves To Munich? It's an earlier work by Puzo under the pseudonym Mario Cleri. Interesting book, but nothing like The Godfather. I read it as a teenager and didn't know until 30 years later it was by Puzo.

I've been working my way through Asimov's works. Disappointed I didn't read them as a kid! They're a relative palate cleanser compared to some of the hard sci fi I've read lately.

I’m just finishing Agassi’s auto biography Open on audio book. Overall it’s pretty good. He spends a bit too much time breaking down the points of every match, and he kind of comes off like a head case, but it was good hearing about the big tennis stars of my youth.

I’ve also listened to both Matthew McConaughey and Matthew Perrys autobiographies, those were both very good.

Hamilton by Chernow.

Chernow is not a great writer, don't care what anyone says. He is an excellent catagloguer and vignette-teller. Very meh book writer.

I really enjoyed this read; for anyone interested in historical fiction. This one does a nice job of touching on many of Ireland's historic past, both historical events and mythology, while spinning a pretty heartwarming tale.

Went to Ireland a full decade ago now, and it brought a lot of that trip back to life for me.

Love historical fiction,.... I'll have to look into that one... finished my Godafterh novels. I just started Count of Monte Cristo at yalls recommndations... I had no idea how big that book was, but that's okay. Let's see if I can knock it out before the Spring.

In anticipation of the return to space and also due to the recent 40th anniversary of the disaster I just finished Challenger. It's from the same author and in the same vein as Midnight in Chernobyl. Very informative but not a difficult read.

I'm currently reading To Hell and Back: The Last Train from Hiroshima and so far I am blown away by it.

I just read this again and perhaps blown away was not the best choice of words. Totally unintentional on my part. It's a REALLY good book. Very well researched and an emotional gut punch.
