It is possible to believe that Cig is the best coach right now while also feeling he won’t ever come close to this again? Too many stars have aligned perfectly between a bunch of COVID 6th year seniors, a bunch of 5th year seniors, and a Heisman quarterback. Maybe Omar Cooper is an example of Cig’s ability to develop but I don’t see how their current roster is sustainable.

If they repeat a run anything close to this next year, he really is either the GOAT or blatantly cheating. What this current roster lacks in stars it makes up for in age and experience. Next year it will lack stars while also lacking age & experience.
Yes. Repeating is hard, see OSU. Even when UGA did it in 2022 they very nearly lost to OSU. And that was pre-portal/NIL.

After listening to Cignetti he was probably worried about another cheap shot on Mendoza. I get it. Still don't like the conservative playcalling.

Should have went at their throats. Miami was totally deflated.

Indiana wins Miami won’t be the only one deflated. More nattys than freeman and the way LSU is spending money, they are going to be tough.

As much as kiffin is a douche and can put offenses together

For me personally it's what if Kansas State didn't blow it in 2012

I will die on this hill:

Bowl prep was so awful, I don’t think we would have beaten them either.

On top of that, the defensive scheme was so simplistic and unbendable, any team with a month to prepare could easily plan against them like Bama did.

They are obviously head hunting Mendoza. I'd be losing my mind if that was Carr taking hits with no calls

Leonard took a bunch of questionable hits in the CFP last year too. Mendoza does tend to like to stand in and take a hit over bailing and every play is an RPO. The Thomas hit was a penalty but other than that I don’t find any issue with what Miami is doing overall. It’s the national championship, strap in.

I don’t think we would have beat IU. We made too many mistakes that we just made up for with talent. We could be the #2 team in the country tho.
