2026 ND Portal Targets

i know we need multiple guys but i hope DT Dixon from the Miami area has a huge year to shut up the bed wetting some are doing about not having any DTs

The following are all true:
1) There are multiple DTs that were available in the portal
2) ND is attractive in terms of money
3) ND is attractive in terms of coaching

Which means to me, if ND fails to land DT's in the portal it must be an admissions issue.

Or ND isn't whatvl DL typically look for in a school, or the weather, or literally anything other than those two factors

It's still wayyyy too early to assert that, IMO... The Portal is open for the better part of another week and we're still seeing people jump in. There is definitely back channeling happening and I find it improbable that there isn't a player out there that will take a hefty sum of money to come showcase themselves at Notre Dame and compete for national championship.

If I'm wrong, I'll own it.

Just to be clear, the 16th is the deadline for the players to enter the portal. They can sign with a new school whenever.

Players can also get off scholarship a number of other ways if they really want to.

Oh, definitely. I'm just talking about the Portal in the broadest sense and the dates that govern it. They can keep signing players for a longggggg time yet, as long as they enter the Portal before the 16th.

Regardless, I suspect ND will be looking for approximately 7-8 players in this cycle (1-2 fewer than I originally anticipated). I think that no fewer than 6 of those players will be signed by the close of the Portal next week.

So I’m guessing Mukam was one of the 4 portal commits we had locked up according to the beat.
