Forgive me if I'm just having a brain fart, but where is the list/schedule of when recruits are visiting? Just curious who is on campus this weekend.

I think Elmer is. That was revealed a few months ago, during the last cycle iirc

Elmer has stated that his academic schedule is set up that he could EE if he chose to. But he has continued to say that he hasn't made a decision yet on if he plans on enrolling early.

With all the early momentum this year i was wandering if the staff would be taking a different approach to flip the pressure from the University to the recruit.

Here is a thought:
Go all in to get 20 quality verbals and then put all the pressure on the recruit that if you are not 100% we got someone else that wants your spot. If they have doubts pull the scholarship and give it to someone that truly wants it. Before doing this you tell the kid waiting that if we find someone not rock solid and we take their spot for you are you 100% rock solid.

I personally find this better than kids using ND as an insurance policy, or having all the heat on the staff when they are the ones offering such an unbelievable opportunity. This gives the staff all the leverage and creates urgency all year not just a few weeks before NSD.

What are your thoughts on this approach?

that works if you have elite guys knocking down the door to get in...right now we don't, hopefully that'll change soon.

Thats why we lost Perkins, one of the rumors that is, we told him he had to be solid and not take visits like Darby, and then BOOM. Decomit

BS.

It is no rumor. David Perkins said that was what happened.

Everyone else familiar with the situation said that it was because he couldn't or wouldn't keep his grades up.

Time to stop basing arguements on false premises.

Ok. I'd much rather think he wasn't good enough for us.

Still not a fan of the get-on-or-hop-off approach.

Perkins did not have the grades and didn't want to put in the effort. That is it. "Decommit" is the wrong word.

osu is pulling out everything they have to get Elliott. stuff i have heard is absolutely ridiculous but thats recruiting for you. big weekend for him. i think he sees osu isnt ND and he is def a ND type of kid. We will see how much playing running back does mean to him though.

Care to share what kind of ridiculous stuff they pulled out to land him?

I'm not going to say on the board what I have been told. But the recruitment went into his high school coaching staff and his family. Nothing illegal or against the rules, but def an aggressive style of recruitment with the people of influence in Elliotts life.

Ugh..I greatly dislike Urban. How is this kind of stuff not against the rules?

What are you talking about, how do you know they did anything to break any rule?

You just whiffed on reading comprehension. He said why isn't this stuff against the rules not that they broke any rules.

Notre Dame has always done a great job recruiting parents and even coaches to be on our side. Saying you want that part taken out of the recruitment is like cutting off the 3rd leg of a 3 legged horse.

Sorry, for my admittedly bad analogy. That is, unless you think it's good.

I didn't whiff on anything, he asked why something isn't against the rules when he doesn't even know what happened.
