The immortal Tom Waddle is shaking his head at you, if he isn't too concussed right now.

On defense, he reminds me of a young Eric Weddle, Gary Fencik, and maybe even a little Jeff Fisher.

He's got 4.45 speed per a few articles I read. FWIIW, both NBC and NBDR have stories and video. I don't think he evers sees PT on O, but definitely see him as a S or special teams phenom. Just happy as hell to have this kid. Heart, hitting, and loyalty. Gotta like it.

Yeah, his brother deferred his enrollment to ND to try his hand at MMA for a year I believe, and is now (obviously) enrolled at ND. They come from a HUGE ND family.

The school I teach at is like a mile from Loyola High. Many of my former students go there. One of the seniors did his one month of service in my classroom (really cool kid), so I texted him and asked him about Eamon, and he texted back that Eamon is a HUGE ND fan. Great addition to the squad, if for no other reason we're adding another kid that will get after it in practice and absolutely be thrilled to be anywhere near the team. Welcome aboard Eamon!

All kidding aside, I think the comparison that should be made is to the other sixteen in this class. They are all under rated, hard workers with great attitudes. He should fit in from everything I have heard.

Great name means "wealthy protector" and is of Irish/Gaelic origin

alot of Irish kids in the US called Eamon are named after Eamon "The Chairman of the Boards" Coghlan who is a former 5000metre world champ. He came from ireland to the states to study/compete at Villanova back in the day and won a bunch of championships/records there. Hes actually a Senator now here back in Ireland.

His brother actually took the year off to train for the olympics in boxing. As you might imagine, he's tearing it up in bengal bouts right now.

dublinirish: Does the name Eamon Casey strike a familiar note? He was formerly a Bishop in Kerry, I believe.

Well, hopefully he has some of that boxer in him as well. ND has fared well with boxing football players in the past...

There you go...boxing. I knew it didn't sound right as I was typing it, but I couldn't think of the right sport. Thanks for the info.

Browner vs. MacAfee, best, hardest hitting, nastiest Bengal bout ever.

Other opinions?

This is like Joe Schmidt; a player who looks too good to be a walk on. I think Eamon has the potential to be a contributer.
