Had we ended with 17 with Greenberry, would it have changed the entire mood of the board? It seems like everyone slit their wrists because a fast kid with good hands wanted to play in a system where he has a chance to touch the ball 20 times a game.

So much drama in the room.

'13 recruits are going to realize that they have a chance to play early if they look at the smaller class in front of them. Hell, that was one of the reasons I chose to play college ball where I did (Only 1 OL recruit worth a damn in the class ahead of me). I knew it would mean a better chance for me to play early once the Seniors graduated. It did and I earned three letters.

100% agree. Small previous class + #1 QB recruit in the nation = Appealing situation for offensive recruits.

I don't necessarily think kids will be lining up to play here like they are in SEC country.. we're just not on that level.. even if there are a lot of spots open and chance at early PT, there's no guarantee we're going to fill up a recruiting class next year.. we're just at such a disadvantage and without an early signing period coupled with the fact we don't oversign (or even take more verbals) it's going to be really hard for us to fill out a recruiting class.. the odds are stacked against us.. we'll have a nice class, top 15 even, but IMO it will probably lack quantity (which to a degree is OK)

I don't think that's the issue. I think the issue is will we? A lot of us think that the lack of improvement in wins had to do with this year's disappointing class. Do we see more than 8 wins in 2012? Will we get a lot of top talent with another year of single digit wins? Hard to be optimistic here.

Cry me a ****ing river. We're 16th in 247 rankings right now. Do you think 17th and beyond are talking about how disappointing their class was? I had a friend that was pretty happy his team was ranked in the top 30. So what you do is put your tampon in and have faith that the coaching staff can coach up the kids that WANT TO BE HERE.

Yes and No it didnt really help us out this year even though we didn't get on his radar until a little of half through the cycle.

We have a better recuiting class than Willingham ever gave us. We can be happy for that. 15 years ago there wasn't any of this hype or dissapointment on signing day. Ahh...the good ol' days.

And... back to Davonte. Hopefully Greenberry's decommitment will give the staff some more leverage with this kid. Our other receivers have upside but Neal would have a better shot than any of them to come in and play immediately.

Apparently Ole Urban said in his presser that the current scholarship count is 81, so there are at least 3 players in addition to the ones that we already know about that have left the program for whatever reason.

I'm wondering when Urban will have another health issue? I'm thin king two years after he wins a NC and his team is 7-5.

what have you been saying? I largely skimmed over that whole spat out of my respect for you :)

Bielema wasn't happy with some of Urban's recruiting tactics. And it is very odd that 3 MORE players are leaving the program on top of what was already known. Its not a coincidence.

The Neal family has been quiet as they are watching how signing day goes down per Sapp.

Let's hope they see a real chance to play early at ND.

All ND unless Oklahoma somehow closes the gap. I'll take a Greenberry for Neal trade everyday.

IMO Urban trying to get Neal to commit on the spot ruined it.
