Tee has done nothing but talk about how Deontay and him were going to play together. Is there any chance he agrees to set out a year and goes to Houston?

He's worried about being in someone else's shadow? He's playing for a team that's in the shadow of at least 6 other college football teams in that state!

RT @BGI_WesMorgan: On Tuesday night Greenberry told cousin Tee Shepard, an early enrollee at #NotreDame, he was switching to Houston.

If a kid switches on signing day and is unprepared to be verbally abused by the fan base he just jilted, then he's either naive or is playing dumb. I would normally say playing dumb for DG, but he did just sign with Houston...

Seriously f'ed us big time. If his heart wasn't in it, he should have decommitted a long time ago so we could have moved on. Same with Darby. He is a dickhead and trolled the sh1t out of us. We were dumb enough to fall for it.

Just as disappointed as everyone else. If he doesn't want to be at ND, then I don't want him there. Little disgusted that we passed on some big time recruits early on because we didn't think we had room. Hopefully a learning lesson for all of us to never assume anything until we get a signature. Have faith in DD and incoming wr class to go out and win some big games for us next year, and hopefully we won't have to deal with this issue again.

From a premium article on 247: Pretty much said Tee is ok with his decision. Tee loves ND and won't leave imo, but to Deontay's coach it felt like he was going to ND to make Tee happy.

I don't think so. Tee loves ND and cares more about his future than playing with his cousin. Tee has always been the kind of kid that is a great fit.

I don't really buy the whole "out of Tee's shadow" thing, because if that were the reason he would have wound up at an elite program. He wound up at Houston because an adult he trusted snookered him into going there. Who knows what he told Deontay to get him there; sure could have included something about Tee's shadow. But I do feel bad for Deontay because the ONLY reason he is at Houston is because an adult he trusted put his own career ahead of what was best for Deontay and took advantage of a teenager's insecurities. Shameful.

I don't get this hate for the Houston coach. Isn't he doing his job and convincing a kid to come to the school? Did he lie to him about something? Seriously, I don't get it.

^ Might not be the ONLY reason, but it's a possibility this may have occurred. I guess when the smoke clears, we'll get a better picture.

Houston lost everything that made them even a peripheral concern in college football. What are the chances that they ever have another season as good as last year's? Deontay will be lucky if he plays in more than two bowl games during his career there. Not to mention that, if he doesn't make the NFL, this will probably cost him a few million dollars over the course of his life.

I am with you RI. They have a snowballs chance in he11, thats it. I am just trying to think about what could have went through his mind. I have been blessed enough to coach several kids that were able to play at the next level. The kids I have coached were most worried about the chances of getting a ring, whether a bowl game or NC. I had a kid 2 years ago that had a chance to go to Houston, Southern Miss, Ark State, or Delta State (he had tons of DIv II offers, but Delta State was the biggest D2). We sat down (the student, his parents and myself) and talked about what was the most important thing to him. His most important thing was getting a ring. We looked at each schools past 5 years records. He chose Delta State because they had a NC, 2 south regional championships, and 4 GSC championships. To this kid, he saw that in 4 of that past 5 years, DSU players got a ring. I took that logic to Dontae's decision, thus the 12 and 1 comparisons. IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SINCE from that standpoint. The degree isn't even close to a comparison. He11, Houston is on pace with ITT tech, IMO.

Don't blame the ND coaches, they did their job. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
Houston coaches were just doing their job too.

We love you Tee, don't take any of this stuff too much to heart.

What? It's called recruiting. Should coaches at programs not named Alabama, LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, or USC just concede that the best players in the country shouldn't come to their school? Nobody "snookered" him.

I don't know why fans wish him well. I think the worst thing you can do is switch teams on NSD. I don't wish him well at all. I hope he ends up on a bad Houston team and never amounts to anything and he ends up working in a car wash in Houston some day.

ND doesn't need players who don't love the school or want to be there. This guy is obviously more about "me" than "team.

We love you Tee.
