"Now don't be sad 'cause 2 out of 3 ain't bad."

I am the 1%

I am the 99%

3 out of 4 dentists recommend it

I'm 50% German, 40% Scots-Irish, and 10% Cherokee

Winning is 75% mental, the other half is ability

Wilt Chamberlain was a 49% career free throw shooter

Drew Brees completed over 70% of his passes...for the 2nd time in his career

"When they touch down, we'll blow the roof, they'll spend a month sifting through the rubble, and by the time they figure out what went wrong, we'll be sitting on a beach, earning 20%."

Not if John McClane has anything to say about it.

Like most people say on here that they are happy with the class as is...I am too but it's always nice to get that cherry on top. Happy with 2012 if Poole comes or not but IMO I'm gonna say he respects his parents opinion and goes to ND.

that is what I was thinking, but even if that is not case, I dont think Poole would tell anyone the day before NSD... If he knows where he is going right now, I bet only his parents and close family know. Him not saying anything about changing his commitment today is NOT an issue AT ALL. :)

This appears to be a popular misconception about what Dead Period means. Unless the NCAA had recently re-defined the term, the below comes from the NCAA's own website (link attached):

Glossary of terms - NCAA.org

Dead Period
The college coach may not have any in-person contact with you or your parents at any time in the dead period. The coach may write and telephone you or your parents during this time.

Quiet Period
The college coach may not have any in-person contact with you or your parents off the college's campus. The coach may not watch you play or visit your high school during this period. You and your parents may visit a college campus during this time. A coach may write or telephone you or your parents during this time.

never noticed the "may" call part of dead period before. Apparently coaches get 1 call per week, but the players can call the coach as much as they want. Seems almost pointless

especially when the coach simply sends a text to a recruit saying "please call me". What the NCAA allows and doesn't allow makes zero logical sense.

Honestly, it shows laziness more than anything. When that rule was written, there probably weren't text messages so they never had that issue.

Update the rules.

ESPN Update from last night, idk if this was posted yet:

"Notre Dame has continued to come at me pretty hard but on Wednesday I'm signing with Florida," Poole said. "There's no secret to that."

"Everyone's going to recruiting whoever they want to recruit but my mind was made up a long time ago," Poole added.

I bet we can't just leave this thread alone until he officially commits. Dare?

Well, even when you are prepared for it, a kick in the groin still hurts.

Per Sapp he thinks we got as close as 49/51 but never took the lead. As of last night the staff had not heard anything from the Poole camp about him changing his committment.

"The staff" has to be referring to Sapp's staff, right?

Well, Jason said "Notre Dame" has not heard anything about Poole flipping ... "the staff" was the poster's term. It wasn't clear from JSapp's post who his sources were but the poster is assuming they are among the staff or would know if the staff had heard from Poole. TIFWIW

True, but there's going to be less and less surprises in recruiting from here on out thanks to twitter. - per kuehnja

Really - seems like twitter has nothing to do with it with some recruits... Ask Armstead about Cal, Ask Thompson who made a pact with Armstead to play at OR and picked WASH, I do not see how twitter has anything to do with those recruits picking their final schools and they are both 5 star in my book...
