I don't think anyone is taking it out on him... All I ask is if u make claims and get people fired up about things then atleast come on and give us your take ... I don't blame him, I honestly just wanna know what he heard ... If I made the comments he made I feel like half the board would be calling me out... This isn't personal, I'm just honestly would like to hear his take on this situation ...he could have been referring to other recruits and not arik and armond for all I know ... just want his 2 cents that's all

After how Gunner's recruitment went I truly believe anything is possible. The fact that Arik has decided to prolong his decision and make sure its the right one I think bodes well for ND. He stated that Cal was his favorite till Tosh left for Wash. which was only two days ago. He clearly needs time to re-evaluate his decision process which shows character and discipline...sounds like the kinda individual that would choose a school like ND to me.

He never claimed inside info on the Armstead situation. He likely heard the same stuff we all did.

The comment that got everyone "fired up" was regarding a different recruit.

I assume he doesn't divulge his sources because they would cease giving him information if he did. TP's not Epitome; his credibility remains in tact.

It's a shame he has to miss his EE chance. Seemed like it was important to him.

He technically still has 6 days before that's the case. If last and this year has taught us anything about recruiting, it's that it ain't over til it's over!

He has six days at ND. Did anyone look up Auburn's academic calendar for this semester? They started classes on the January 9th.

Armsteads could still be next if ND's medical staff clears Armond before the 24th.

Wright is deciding within the next 8-9 days.

Darby could flip back at any point.

Ekanem shows up for his OV on the 27th. If we've got room, he's likely ours.

I thought armstead said they r for sure waiting till signing day?

That only gives Arik and Armond an extra week of thinking time but costs them the spring semester.

If they're unsure of the timeline there's no reason to let the media's candle-light vigil on their lawn continue indefinitely. If they come to a decision sooner there's no reason not to pull the trigger before then.

Whisky where did u hear Atkins wasn't cleared by NDs staff yet?

From Arik's thread:

Per Scout
Regarding the delay.

"According to Blaine's report earlier today, "they are still waiting on some information from Notre Dame doctors as well as the result from the SEC waiver"

Given Armond's lack of urgency in filing for the SEC waiver, it looks like ND is indeed first choice, and Auburn is the backup in case Armond doesn't get cleared medically. I'm hopeful that ND's medical staff will clear Armond by the 24th, so that they can both still EE. No point in waiting then.

Edit: Pops beat me.

TP said we could be getting someone better than Agholor last night. I assume that it's Shaq but that's only possible if we get the Armsteads before NSD.

To be completely accurate, I believe he said "bigger" than Agholor. Take that for what it's worth- prolly just semantics.

Thx for clearing that up for me... I find it crazyyyy that a medical clearence could determine us getting both armsteads and shaq... Ha it's insanity.. I guess noone knows what goes on behind the scenes but wow... I know it would impact ariks decision possibly but shaq as well ? seems far fetched but in light of the gunner situation anything goes... I'd kill have an hour long sit down with Kelly right now, can anyone hook me up with that?

Let's just hope the medical issue receives clearance quickly. The condition is strange rumor has it. But not a major issue. Prayer pic.....

All the more reason why it's important to secure Arik's commitment as an EE before the 24th. His addition would definitely influence others. Shaq would be unbelievable, and I remain hopeful that we can win back Darby.

1. Word is ND might have the same concerns that usc did with Armond. Last thing any school wants to do is have a player die on the practice field or game. This will be a bold comment, and meant in no disrespect to anyone. But the last thing ND needs is another death in the football program with Mr. Sullivans passing a short time ago.

2. You guys do realize ND is going up against the school that wrapped up Cam Newton? I am sure a SEC official is waiting on a check to be deposited as we speak. ND aint dirty. My guess is Auburn is telling Armond he will play, then not play him. I mean running a risk of 2 schools saying no, and going against that is a HUGE risk.

3. This class will be special.

4. Agree or disagree with me, but some of you guys need a better attitude! One day your all happy, then the next its the end of the world! I mean that's how ND stadium is on saturdays, these guys are CHANGING the culture inside the locker room. Change needs to be made outside the campus. We can't expect them to blow it, because THEY all care now. They are coming back for their senior years, they are saying and actually meaning right things. Time for the fanbase to change.

5. BK has won everywhere. Is that going to change? NO.

Thanks for that TP. So you expect Armond and Arik to be Irish if we approve Armond.?

I wonder what could be "holding up" a medical clearance? Unless they're waiting on blood test results or medical records to be transferred from elsewhere, but even then, that should be a minimal wait.

I'm assuming the medical staff will be able to give a definite yes or no in short order. If I were Kelly, I'd go all-in with my in-home visit this weekend if Armond gets clearance. Our chances of landing Arik will never be better than they are now.
