Not to state the obvious here.... and maybe I missed something earlier in the thread.... but Penn State has like 30,000 kids right? Assuming there aren't people with the initials xxx or yyy there are ~13000-15000 combinations of initials. Odds are that there is someone else with the initials INW.

Ya, but if you click on the link and fill in the form (first name: Ishaq and Lat name: Williams) this is the email that pops up.

Ah OK gotcha. Well, we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'll ultimately be shocked if he goes to Penn State.

I took another approach to this that I don't think anyone has mentioned. I tried looking up other potential PSU EE's. The only one I came up with is Albert Louis-Jean and he is not in that directory. Also I found it ironic that the article I found the PSU EE info in stated they fully believe Ishaq to be a ND commit. haha oh the recruiting world...

any fan who calls up PSU and asks about academic status of ishaq needs a psych eval in a rubber room with white walls

If we lose out to Syracuse we need to start re-evaluating how we recruit. I don't care that his parents went there, if it's head to head with Syracuse and we lose, we're in big trouble with recruiting and it might be time for us to take a new angle with these kids.

The more I think about it, the more I think a guy with Ishaq's talent is going to look at the big picture and pick ND. ND offers a superior education, football facilities, football exposure, football team, coaches, etc. Whether he is making a 4 year decision or a 40 year decision it is hands down the best place for him.

The ace in the hole that 'Cuse has is that they offer the proximity to home and that they are apparently pulling out all of the stops to get him. However, as long as he has a strong relationship with our coaches, I cannot see a snowball fight keeping him out of South Bend. Anyone know which coaches he has met with?

You can't have that attitude about it. If you lose a kid to a inferior school that just mean that the school has something that Notre Dame or any other school can't offer to the recruit. It could be less pressure it could be proximity to home, who knows. Notre Dame can only show so much love.

The last face to face with ND coaches was with KELLY & DIACO, an in home visit, the week before the dead period started.

+1. If you read the Syracuse boards, they all say "if we lose this kid that would be insane" or "if we lose an elite prospect from our backyard to Notre Dame we need to reevaluate recruiting" because they think they should be a lock for anyone from NY. The key is to look at it objectively and not subjectively.

ND is not the best school for every kid just as Syracuse should not be a 'lock' for anyone with how uncompetitive their program has been for years and how it shows no signs of getting any better with its consistently terrible recruiting classes. Looking at it objectively, ND is a better school and offers Ishaq a lot of opportunities playing football that he simply would not have at Syracuse. However, Syracuse offers some intangibles (i.e. proximity to home and comfort) that may or may not have an impact on which school he feels is the best for him.

Rest assured, he probably gets TONS of peer pressure every day in school to pick Syracuse. This is a complex situation, but all signs seem to be pointing to ND right now, so I remain VERY optimistic.

I just don't understand a college age kid wanting to stay close to home so bad.

I'm not making fun of the notion, it just goes against everything I was feeling at the time. I wanted to get the hell out of Dodge, go on adventures, and all that.

Right, and I was the same way, and I don't think there is any indication which way Mr. Williams feels. Two weeks until we know for sure... until then we're all just playing a giant guessing game.

True, but you need to keep in mind that he hasn't had a typical high school kid's life - football camps across the country via bus trips with a large group of guys all summer long may have given him the taste of distance he needed.

I went to boarding school 4 hours away from my parents in high school and spent summers as a camp counseler 3 hours away. By the time I was done I realized my parents weren't such douchebags after all - and ended up at college about an hour away from my folks. Different strokes, and what not.

/csb, I know.

Hey guys Brooklyn isn't exactly around the corner from Syracuse. I mean you are talking about at least a 4 to 5 hour drive.

Honestly I think he is going to Syracuse. They are pulling out all the stops for him and both his parents went there. I'm just not getting the feeling that he will be Irish, but i hope I am wrong.

Not the same life expirience as living away from the family full time. I would think anyone would want to get away either through the military or college route if given the opportunity, to gain a sense of independence from the parents. The fact that his parents are SU alumns should tell him to create a new identity at ND. SU is a basketball/Lacrosse school.

Im in. He's gonna be Irish.

OK I know for a fact that I'll get ripped for this by so many of you but I dont care beacuse I have nobody else to tell. If I tell my fiancee another ND recruiting story, she may leave me. I was just on facebook and Ishaq posted something so I went to his page. This is what I read from a girl labeled as his sister...

"Now that your going to your big fancy school sooooo far away from home, you better not go gettin all grown up and forget about ur peeps. We will love and miss you."

Seems foolish that someone would write that if he is keeping it silent but then it was erased immediately....

I know that so many of you don't buy into the facebook thing and many/all of you won't but into what I'm saying and thats fine. I just had to let this out to someone besides my dog and fiancee. There is no doubt in my mind that Ishaq is coming to ND. Sorry for the waste of time ladies and gentleman but I had to air it out.

Good info. Distance is all relative, but I don't see PSU as being fancy. Big, but not fancy.
