That is great film. I love the way he runs. He will be seeing some serious PT next year.

You know we go through this long recruiting process, each week there is a "recruit du jour" and all of our attention flows back and forth and you get caught up in the latest breaking news.

Then you take a moment to look back at the recruits we have, look at their latest tapes, like above, and realize we have a lot of really good players coming in and already on board. Really looking forward to Mahone showing his stuff.

That goes for all of these guys!

Amazing patience, dont see that at all really with young guys or even new guys in nfl. That to me means he will def be getting srs pt and if it turns out good will be like Jonas was and take over even more from Wood(who really lost his way after good start).

And wait for it ............ quicker then fast. that is rarely a bad thing for a RB, seems to have enough speed to be dangerous-1st step explosion is excelent aswell.

I always liked him better then KM, never said it in KM thread cuz id get the omg troll garbage lol

He actually looks like a veteran college back - great patience in finding the hole. He has some good burst through the hole and runs hard with good balance.

Rewatch KM's tape. Sorry, I like Malone, but theres really no comparison. Having said that, I think Malone will be a great back for us.

Love this kid! Good speed, power, and agility. And did you see his hands on some of the videos? Reaching back and over his head and made the catch. Great pick-up. Love him!!

I love how he waits for the running holes to develop, so many young RB just run right at the hole before there is even a opening

Am I the only one who sees a fair share of Jonas Gray-like stuff in that video?

I agree with you on this. The difference as I'm sure you know was Gray's speed. It's incredible how fast that guy is for his size. Which made it all the more puzzling that it took him so long to see the field. Come to think of it that speed may have been what held him back in a way. He spent three years trying to use only that tool. Mahoney seems to know himself.

He looks a lot bigger then I thought. That video said 6'1" I believe. Gray is probably 5'9". I really like Mahone's acceleration.

Great vid, love the patience, the burst through the line.

Also love how he keeps his legs churning no matter what, almost refuses to be tackled

Edit: also wanted to add (I may be alone on this) that he reminds me more of Robert Hughes than Jonas Gray

I must be watching a different video than you guys. To me he looks like he kinda shy's away from contact by always running to the sideline. He reminds me more of Wood than Gray or Hughes. I thought for his size he would be more a punishing type of back than a dancer.

Don't get me wrong I think he will be a great addition to the running back core looks like he has good vision and a decent burst. I think after a year in the system he could turn into the power back we need. With what we have returning and if Cams knee is good I just don't see him seeing the field in 2012

Cam's injury was pretty devastating. I wouldn't bank on him seeing the field, and if he does- he probably won't be 100% until the following season.

Sam from Cheers. You know... "Where everybody knows my name..."

LOL

A few of us had posts deleted for making jokes and inserting pictures about this yesterday. Weird how some people's contributions are "off-topic" but others are "funny."
