Not everyone wants to go to Ohio State and not everyone falls in love with Urban. Our own Andrew Hendrix was wined and dined by Urban and said no thank you. I live on his planet; its kind of hard for me to understand why you would want to go to a big football factory when you can have the best of both worlds.

However, this is the place where ND admission standards complicate things. One of the reasons its so easy to poach from Stanford is because if Stanford lets a kid in, he'll get in your school. On the other hand, Stanford cant' retaliate because they have no idea if your recruits can get in their school. ND is similar.

FWIW Sherminator see below:

David Perkins @StudntOfDaGam
I dont even kno where the whole "Grades" thing even came from please tell me why I have a Cal Berk offer if my grades were any type of prob

David Perkins @StudntOfDaGame
ND fans get on my nerves u commit they love you,you de commit they find sumthin to throw salt on u about.

First of course he is going to admit that there was a grade issue for him not getting into ND, who would admit that. Second it has been confirmed on IE from from someone at his school that ND pulled his scholarship due to grades. Third state schools, even great academic schools like Cal, get more leeway with letting in athletes than a private school like ND, Duke and Stanford. he doesn't have an offer from Stanford or NorthWestern.

To respond to is second tweet...all fan bases act the same.

Nothing about this on Irish Eyes. Do you have a link?

IDK if anyone has access to this, but here's something:

Taylor Decker Visiting?

Big news on the recruiting front.

Ohio offensive tackle and current Notre Dame verbal commit Taylor Decker will be visiting Ohio State this weekend.

Considering that his position coach and primary recruiter at Notre Dame were just officially announced and introduced as a part of Ohio State’s coaching staff, the writing seems to be on the wall for this one.

Given the need at tackle, Decker switching his commitment to the Buckeyes would obviously be a huge development for the 2012 class and for the team moving forward.

With the uncertainty surrounding Jordan Diamond (both in terms of where he will sign and if he projects at LT) and the recent news that Joey O’Conner is being recruited as an interior linemen, it can’t be overstated what big news this is and the impact it could have on the 2012 class.

A duo of Decker and Dodson at tackle would be an amazing finish, particularly when you consider how bleak things have looked at the position throughout this recruiting cycle.

Yeah the people on their forums seem to think this is a done deal. With one guy even saying "Game.Set.Match" and another posting "turn out the lights - the game is over".

Morale is definitely high in the o$u camp, the complete opposite of ours currently.

I know this class is off to have a disappointing ending just rememeber that we still have guys like Tee,Greenberry,Russell,Mahone,Shumate, stanley. We still have alot of bright spots. Also we could still end up with some good football players that have not committed. yes they may not be 4 or 5 star guys. Lets hope Kelly and mahone can get this young man to stay.

We're always going to have a few studs in a class since we're ND. But losing guys like Darby, Perkins, and perhaps Decker who are also studs is not helping us get to the top.

Getting LOIs from a lot of elite talent and getting a few just to hang your hat on is the difference between 8/9 win team and 10/11 win team. There's a bunch of 8/9 win teams every year. That's nothing special.

Like i have said many times before the loss to FSU hurt us. But theres not much that can be done about it til next season when this team steps on the field and hope that Kelly and his staff have realized 7-5 isn't good enough.

It's just a VISIT! He is going to visit to see where he stands. He has said all along that he chose ND for ND...let's see how he stands after he goes there.

And no, the class is not falling apart.

This just in. Kelly and staff already know that 7-5 is not good enough, no need to wait for next season for that. Well, today's the 13th, and you're back to your Debbie Downer self. Didn't take long.

Even if Decker goes to OSU its not that big of a deal. We are loaded at the o-line and we will be for a while.

Yes we do have some good recruits for the o-line. It helps with the transsfer of Prestwood from last year.

Ok, how about this one then. Take a flipping happy pill. And yes you were being negative. Do you really think the staff doesn't know that 7-5 won't cut it? They are professionals, they are aware of the situation.

Well, perkins hardly counts as a decommit... but everything else you said I agree with. Having Darby look around wasn't even the end if the world as it was very expected. But letting Urban take your coaches (arguably with wariner definitely with hinton) and a recruit you've had forever would be a very big blow.

You need to stop justifying the potential loss of Decker. I think you're grossly underestimating the potential this kid has. I think he, barring a decommitment, will be a beast for us in a couple of years. We can't blow off a decommitment from Decker simply because we have a lot of bodies to plug in at his position.

Your post history shows you to put a negative spin on everything. I did read the rest and I'm done going back and forth talking about it. Back to Taylor. Do not want to lose him!

I'm guessing that Decker is gone come signing day. Urban took our coaches and now it's to the players. I hate Urban and Osu.

So if Cooks supposedly told Darby to stop taking visits this close to NSD or decommit, why isn't the same being done with Decker?

Did I miss something?

This sucks by the way.
