Well, if it was a USC-Cal-ND-NFL battle, you can cross off the NFL. I suppose that it good news.

USC's got a scholarship crunch they have to work out as well. Combined with the fact Arik isn't considering USC anymore and I don't see why returning to USC is an option for Armond.

@insidetroy:

No decision yet RT @whisk3yjack: Has Armond Armstead decided to remain a Trojan, or is he simply passing on the draft?

Take that with a grain a salt, since this is the guy who earlier tweeted that Armond "decided to stay for his senior season" and then quickly deleted it.

Since this tweet isn't getting any love in the 'upshot for the rest of the class' thread, here it is:

@insidetroyRyan Abraham
Armond Armstead got his NFL evaluation back. It was a 3rd round grade. He decided to stay for his senior season. uscfootball.com

Back to USC? Anyone know?

when is that tweet from? Its not on his timeline going back to December...

He isn't cleared to play at USC unless something really funky just happened (for instance, they hear that if they don't clear him that he and Arik are headed to ND and then they clear him) so right now I think we all just have to wait patiently for 4 more days and we should know what's going on.

That's my fear, though it doesn't seem like Kiffin holds much sway over the medical staff.

ah thanks. Seems to me like it would be a tweet from January 2011.

You can find the tweet here. Dated January 6, 2011. You were right, Clashmore.

See what happens when you post too quickly, kuehnja? Next you'll be telling everyone that Mark Stoops is no longer the DC at FSU...

Had Armond ever been to or visited ND? The reason I ask is because if he's already familiar with the facilities, it doesn't really matter if the paperwork/administrative things go down to the wire. However, if he has the administrative tasks and wanting to see ND before he and his brother decide on their future, it sounds less likely that he'll be at ND IMO.

I guess my point is if he's already familiar with ND then he can make a transfer decision at the last moment.

Nice. Just kind of seemed like it was from last year with the way it was worded. Saying he would return for his senior season and all when this year it isn't exactly the case.

FWIW, I don't know if things have changed since I've been at work, but there is every indication that the choices are ND or NFL for Armond. USC has not cleared him and cost him a full season for no reason. Cal is not an option per PAC12 rules. Auburn, etc. Are not an option per SEC rules.

So it's NFL or ND for Armond, Cal or ND for Arik. 4 more days.

Agreed.

And let's be real here, if he got a 3rd round grade last season, it's not like his draft stock went up this season. Just saying..

3rd round grade is pretty strong for a guy who didn't even play this year. starting to REALLY like the possibility of landing him and arik is sugar for sure.

That 3rd round grade was after a very productive 2010 junior season. I can't imagine that his grade would have improved after having sat out a full year. He had to have dropped a round or two at least, no?

"FWIW....

....AA has been tweeting with both AC (ND) and BT (CAL) and...

....BT said, "when do you have to decide" and AA responded, "college starts on Monday"...

....BT responded with, "then you already know"...

but the kicker is that...BOTH ND and CAL start school on Monday. lol.......at least it points towards him being an EE."

The next poster's response was "I'm sure the schools and coaches already know, and have for a while. Dorm assignments, aid packages, etc. typically have a pretty substantial lead-time. Thing is you'd think if he were moving halfway across the country he'd need to go sooner than this weekend to be settled in for classes by Monday. Here's hoping so at least."

Next poster: "I agree w/ all of that, was just trying to be as objective as possible. I think that it's more likely that he chooses to delay his decision than to get up and move to ND like right now."

Next poster: "Bryce Treggs: Big decision for my bro @arikarmstead coming up. I support you no matter where you go bradah. You know where I want you though. Lol.

although if he were going to Cal wouldn't bryce be in the know?"

I really think he is just waiting for Armond. Once Armond finds out what he is doing then Arik will probably make a decision. Which may be why Bryce doesn't know.

idk if he's waiting on armond completely. yea maybe he's more likely to enroll at ND if armond goes, but he'd only get to play with him for a year right? that means 3-4 years without the brother. not saying this is the case , just saying.

he cant even get on campus till the weekend anyways right? thats what i recall from last year. new students couldnt come till like a few days b4 start, current students was like a week earlier.

So if that holds true his traveling habbits are not his choice.

For me at least campus does not open until 9 am on Sunday.

Good to know things haven't changed much since I graduated. I don't feel as old now. I think only athletes on a sport currently in season are allowed in dorms before 9 am Sunday, if the rules are still the same. This is also one of the reasons Tee's comment about flying up after the Semper Fi game didn't make much sense--there was nowhere for him to live at that point outside of a hotel or an off campus house.

I once showed up half a day early for spring semester. It's a long freaking drive from Virginia so my friend and I left the day before. Long story short, you absolutely CANNOT get on campus early. So any talk about travel schedules is moot. We'll know more in 4 days... just going to have to waiit patiently until thenit seems.

Tee was saying how we are gonna have a top recruiting class and such so maybe he knows Arik is coming. When someone says you know where I want you to go, usually means the person isn't going where that person wants them to go and convincing them is not possible. Just my over analytical opinion which carries zero weight.

Auburn's 247 site claims that he is scheduled to visit this weekend.

Highly doubtful considering he is supposed to decide sometime this week and leave for school on Monday.
