Is it a recruiting violation for a fan to drive up and down his block blaring the Notre Dame Victory March?

just a driving violation, noise ordinance something like that lol. Now do it. If ur not committed enough to spend a night in the hokie for ND what good r u

You can easily play 2 sports in college. Look no further than our very own Will Yeatman. And lacrosse is far more punishing than basketball. Probably the #3 most physical team sport behind football and hockey (not counting rugby, etc. of course...)

The reason he wants to play DE is because he realizes if he gets moved to LT that is the end of basketball.

And it is definitely tougher to play football and basketball rather than football and baseball because the seasons overlap big time with basketball

The light the heat...I am complete. Haha- reps, bro!

Arik is my number 1 want. If landing Armond helps insure this...then he maybe he's my number 1?

So I drive up to his block and what do I see? Lane Kiffin blaring "Baby Come Back" from a Hummer stretch limo and throwing dollar bills on his lawn!

Just kidding

First off, sorry for the bump with no info. Just wondering if anyone knows of a Cal recruiting forum/blog that is free to read member's posts. Slow day at work and I thought I'd search through and see if I could find something. So far, can't find one on google.

idk it drove him to drinking, maybe to subdue some the pain? ;)

Agreed. My concern about basketball would be more on seasons overlapping and the complete lack of any break.

Sure, but some great players have pulled it off...Julius Peppers come to mind...

I think you guys should take the 2-sports with a grain of salt... for now. I remember a QB we have on the roster that said he'd be playing bball, too. He's not. Things change when you find out how demanding college athletics are.

Lets not forget about 2 recent super studs we had that were two sport stars!!!

Jeff S. was our record setting WR that played baseball.
Golden Tate our other record settiing WR played baseball too.

And now, Austin S. Jenkins the Freshman All American TE from the University of Washington is now playing basketball. Similar frame to Arik.

I can see the QB's not doing it, but other position players most certainly can do it.

Austin Sefarin (sp) Jenkins is not on the roster on either ESPN or SI.

I think Arik Armstead, Brian Kelly, and Mike Brey know a little bit more about his ability to play two sports at Notre Dame than we do. That's really all there is to it.

Told you guys it was a slow day back to work. So I created a profile on the Cal blog and asked about Arik. I'm Irishja and just seeing what they're hearing (again, I'm bored as ****). Here's the on-going convo if anyone cares to check it out:

Arik Armstead - The Bear Insider - Covering Cal Sports 24 x 7

Edit: If there's a question/info from a source I could bring up in order to see their take, let me know.

When has either coach had a player that played both football and basketball?

I was wondering if Brey and Kelly had dealt with this before...football players are busy year-round with their football duties. I can't imagine what a scheduling nightmare it'd be to mix in basketball as well.

Antwaan went to IU and played basketball for one season and baseball for one season. He was a freakish athlete. He actually was drafted by the Cubs after his sr year of HS but went to IU instead.

Note that just about every guy on your list was a skill position player, not a guy in the trenches. There's a reason for that.

Even if Arik only plays the remainder of this year it may be enough to satisfy himself. Sometimes just knowing you gave it a shot is enough. It could be one of those, "I don't want to have regrets for not giving myself a shot at it" kind of things.
