I guess when you pay the refs to help you win the Orange Bowl, you can get anyone.

Per ISD, will not announce until after NSD. I reiterate my feeling that this is awfully risky business for these kids who are not considered elite. What are the chances there will be a spot for him at ND after NSD?

I'd put it at .0003485%

Really starting to appear like he might play the "wait and see" game with Michigan/ND and if Michigan whiffs on Reeves/Yuri he *might* consider coming back if they crawl back to him.

Similar situation for ND where if we have an open scholarship and whiff on Yuri/Redmond/everyone else he might be a guy we can snag.

personally if we whiff, i'd say move on to 2013. i don't think you use a scholly on a kid you've been unsure about throughout the entire process.

i will stand in my lil corner all alone cuz i like what i see.
Its not like i can watch any film on Yuri cuz it doesnt seem to exist.
All the other "speed" guys that will be making the move to cb, dont really have anything to look at with them playing db.

Perhaps im just to excited by watching highlights of a cb attacking the ball in air, no fear of contact, locating the ball and defender effortlessly. Perhaps Gray has me to desperate for anyone

Kid's got safety written all over him, however, with that size and frame he is prototypical cover 2 corner...i agree with the speed assessment of him just from a quick look...receivers that are just as big and faster than him look like they could separate from him.

From what I see, and this is just my opinion, I think he would be an awesome Cover 2 corner. The lack of speed that is being talked about really wouldn't be an issue if he were playing a hard 2. He seems to like contact, which would be great out there at corner in the hard 2 scheme. Take away flats and bubble extend out to 15 yds deep. Come up like an outside backer on the run and take away outside on the run. Bracket deep balls with the safety having underneath while safety is over the top. I think he would excel in this. Man coverage would be iffy, but I could see great things in the zone

IMHO we got plenty of average guys we could start already and we don't need another one of those guys. If we can't land elite talent that is going to make a difference on D and not just be a body on the field lets wait. Poole,Wright or bust!

all the things you listed have not been problems the last two years...the big problem has been getting beat in coverage, not locating the ball and making a play. speed helps you with the first of those, but you're right i like his instincts attacking the ball.

call me greedy, but i wanna guy that has both, like most of the guys i watched last night.

I agree with you on coverage bieng a problem. I was just giving my opinion on what assets this kid would bring to the table if he came to ND. I would love to see a sub 4.4 guy that can cover and deliver punishing hits, but in situations, guys with his skill set are whats needed. Option teams come to mind. Having this kid come up and attack the RB when he reads option would lead to pitches hitting the ground. Also, when bracketing out of cover two, with the pressure ND's front seven is going to bring (IMO), most balls are going to be underthrown (right to the corner) or overthrown (safety over the top). I do not think the QB will have the time to make perfect throws. All I am saying is, I am going to find the bright spots on any player ND gets and trust the coaches to have the right scheme to maximize their talents and minimize their weakness. :awesomewo

gotcha...that quote you pulled up above was from last spring and i'd say i still believe that way. he and prosise are very similar guys that i think could play free safety, especially since he seems to be hawk with the ball in the air.

if we continue to evolve i see us going to more man coverage, which is what looked to be the case last night watching. i may be dreaming, but i'm hoping we're at that level soon and i think up front we're close, but there is still a drastic difference in the secondary.

I see that as well. I think we are getting caught back up with the other elite teams as far as talent is concerned. I love the speed that is being recruited. It would be nice to run some zero coverage and let the big boys eat! :cannibal:

i'm really surprised that illinois hasn't shown more interest in him since he de-committed. i'd think beckman would want a good start at keeping some of the talent in state.

Edit: i stand corrected

CB Standifer is setting up visits

It wasn't......I just can't use the sarcasm font from my phone. Point being, when schollys are limited, as they are at this point, it comes down to, can this kid really help us down the road?? I don't know if Standifer can really help this D out, and when you get to the 3 star kids, it can really turn into a crapshoot as to how they turn out. I know recruiting holds no guarantees, the odds just go up the more you go down the board.

for those with speed statements, all the 40 times i see listed for Tee are 4.6+-yet hes the next great 1(which i dont doubt). I see a lot of similarities in play style and body movement.

As far as rating goes 3*, i dunno if this kid did any 1v1 or camps with RCT site ppl there, but Greenberry was a 3* not that long ago. Perhaps someone knows of articles reviewing Anthony if he attended camps and such.

a majority of tee's 40 times were based off performances after his freshman/sophomore year from what i recall.

Taking all 5 OVs so he won't be deciding until a ways after NSD if that holds true.

He definitely seems to have an inflated opinion of his athletic ability. Part of the reason I'm not a big fan.
