Bennett Jackson, if it happens to him, will at least continue to be a special teams coverage star.
It's extremely early to write the kid off (and obviously you haven't done that, OMM), but I have to say that Bennett just does not look like a defensive back... at all.

Darby, conversely, looks college-ready this very second. Can't wait to see him in blue-and-gold.

To be fair, BJack was a WR turned DB last year, gotta give him a little slack.

LOTS of recruits are over hyped, Nd has had plenty over the years-see Dion-Tyler S, and about 5 inside LBs over the past 4 years------but it looks like DARBY is the real deal based on tonights all star game-----something like FLOYD was. Might be a nickel or a starter from day 1.

My intuition is that Jackson is the least likely of our current CBs to get knocked out of the 2-deep.

Then again Shaq Evans looked awesome in his all star game and was a 5 star. So Darby's great performance needs to be taken in stride.

Wait what? Shaq Evans was horrid at the Army AA game. It dropped him out of the top 100.

This is true. I also vividly remember him taking one of the nastiest hits I have seen a high schooler get on a crossing pattern. He hurt his shoulder and left the game.

Darby just has a walk/strut about him I love. You can tell he has a natural gift that sets him apart from many.

I wanted to see him get the ball in the open field last night so bad I couldnt stand it. I crave to see that speed in a Notre Dame uniform!

I have to imagine that the defense tends to have an advantage in these all-star games because of the limited time for the offenses to prepare.

plus the running backs have no interest in pass blocking or chipping defenders they just fly out on their wheel routes while the QB gets pummelled!

The broadcasters in the Under Armour game talked about how the rules favor the offenses and that it is easier to get players comfortable in an offense than it is to get them in the right positions in a defensive scheme (ie gap designation, coverages, etc). I don't know personally what rules they were talking about that make it easier on the offense, but that's what they were saying.

Wooly, I think they limit how much the defenses blitz which in theory gives the offense the advantage, unless like last night your o-line can't stop the front 4.

probably the same rules as the pro bowl, no blitzing and they have to play simple cover 2 man or zone only

FWIW, those announcers were as smart as my golden retriever..

I don't know what is so bad with that picture, my golden makes me laugh all of the time and he is the smartest dog in the world. It takes a lot of intelligence to be funny, that dog is funny, so therefore, it must be intelligent. Case closed.

Off topic unless we're referring to the only beings that can outrun Ronald Darby.

I don't know if there is a dog on the planet that could outrun Darby.

If there was... Darby would still juke them out of their dog boots or blindside them on a crossing route...

Set a race up for Darby vs Strider the Golden Retriever. It'd definitely be better than Chad Johnson racing a horse.
