He's been locked on in man to man so far, I mean I know this is redundant but he is effortlessly fast, Luginbill said something to the effect in considering his athleticism and size he could play both corner or safety at the next level

Darby has shut down his side of the field as of yet tonight. They aren't even looking to throw his way.

Jamie Newberg apparently (i did not hear this) said in an ESPN chat room that darbys commitment was shaky, and to watch out for Maryland ( who picked up wes brown at the game). Maybe the Clemson Calamity turned him odd clemason but i guess he is still looking for an alternative. Wonder if we are planning an in home from kelly or if that option is used up?

LOL I am NOT worried about Maryland. The players HATE Edsall and I am SHOCKED that they picked up Wes Brown.

And Terry Richardson is the #4 cornerback! This is the guy that isn't tall, fast, and not impressive. ESPN blows

Agreed man, I don't get ESPN Recruiting. How do they actually rank? Or is that info not disclosed?

Also it's a CRIME that Richardson is ahead of Darby, considering JUST the height advantage of Darby...

I saw the same thing.

Also, how is Brian Poole the #9 corner and Darby is #11? This has to be a joke.

I can kinda see why they would put Poole as #9 corner because he is only 5'10" and doesn't have elite speed. That being said I think Poole should be #6 corner in the class.

Top 6 corners I think are in order

Tracy Howard
Tee Shepard
Ronald Darby

Yuri Wright
Geno Smith
Brian Poole

Howard, Shepard, and Darby are on another level from the other corners in this class. Very close between those three.

My bones tell me that Tee Shepard is going to start for us this year early if not right off. I've felt that the other corner would be Wood, Brown, or Atkinson. BUT, Darby's starting to sway me against all logic. This guy's awfully special. We could have two Frosh starting corners soon, and NOT be worried about it. If only the Human Blur would be an early enrollee like Tee. Man, he covers a lot of ground AND air.

I agree, and I hate to sound attached to current ND players, but I'm actually starting to think that Bennett Jackson won't see the field... which I think is a bit sad/a bit of a crime.

I'm hoping that other and future recruits won't read many opinions like the one I'm about to give, but: Kelly and the staff are absolutely LOADING this roster with elite and near-elite talents. Who in the whole country is going to have THREE deeps of players like we're getting??? [simplest example: Lynch/ Nix/ Tuitt/ KLM/ Cwynar?/ Jones/ Hounshell/ Day/ Okwara --- and no room for Schwenke/ Springmann/ keeping Hafis Williams??? Do you know how many teams would START a Hafis Williams??] . With this policy of power recruiting every season, the "never-see-the-field" story will be played many sad times. Bennett Jackson, if it happens to him, will at least continue to be a special teams coverage star.

Fortunately for this thread, young blazer won't have that problem.

The answer to the "who-in-the-whole-country?" part of the above is, of course: Alabama, LSU, USC, OSU, FSU, TX, OK, and maybe a couple more. The answer is then something to meditate upon as to NDs direction.

Gotta love how it's second nature for Darby to turn his head back to the ball , while running full tilt.
