maybe barratti could grow to a middle linebacker like we've heard spond could. i think scout has him listed as a possibility at MLB

Can someone list these guys out and where we stand (lead, in contention, out, etc.)? That may help the rest of us out.

If you are referring to the d-back conversation, my guess would be such...

Shepherd - Obviously a verbal commit. Here's to hoping everything is as it appears and he pcks ND out of the hat tomorrow. So I would say lead.

Darby - Same as Tee. Still has visits to Clemson and one more. We lead at this point.

Howard - Battle between UF and LSU. Out!

Wright - I would say we lead, but still taking visits.

Poole - I would say we are in contention, barely. I would be surprised if he flips from Florida.

Reeves - I would say in contention at this point. However, he might end up at UM.

If this isn't what you were referring to, my fault. Lol.

not a fan of the "over weight" (read: slow) safety slash "underweight" LB

no need for another Motta

lets get true safeties and true LB's and stop tripping over ourselves just b/c slaughter did some nicre things down in the box a couple times this year.

Generally agree, but Barratti is bigger and faster than Slaughter. He could play either position, depending on the alignment.

If ND went back to a 4-3 base defense then I could see some of the S moving to LB but not as LB's in 3-4.

Slow down tiger. Slaughter is a true safety, but just plays aggressive in the box and makes big plays.

Barratti is a freak. He runs a 4.4 and is almost the size of a LB. If you aren't excite about that...

I generally agree, but if someone like Baratti who is 6-2 215 can gain 20-25 pounds (making him 235-240) then I could see him at Dog LB or Will LB. But no I don't she Shumate at LB.

I just watched DeAnthaony Thomas from Oregon bash Wisconsin for a 92 yard touchdown. No one even came close to getting him, it was pure speed! It made me think of the athletes we are bringing in and the potential of our offense

Who has access to the Scout article talking about possible transfers to ND?

I'd like to know as well. There are several unsubstantiated rumors out there right now of possible transfers to ND, but none that have any real credible sources at this point.

I wonder if its DeAnthony Arnett from UT. It would be a nice story, since ND sent Alex Bullard to UT for the same reason.
