Welp, with Tee reportedly wavering, looks like this guy and Wright just went from luxuries to needs. Mr. Shumate, come on down!!! And bring your buddy with ya!

Our DB coaches are fine. If you haven't seen improvement in all parts of the D, you're crazy. Our ability to stop the run has had a lot to do with our DBs being more aggressive and flying to the ball.

BB...i like you so please don't take this the wrong way, just simple disagreement.

there was an extreme drop off in our corners. Blanton started out great finished not so good.

gray, i know you know better than thinking he improved.

harrison, very good, much like last year and will be missed.

zeke, slow and is an olb playing safety.

Just cause there's not great talent doesn't mean they haven't been coached well. You can't tell me that Te'o by himself has cut the amount the Irish give up in half since the Weis years. It's all around better coaching on the defensive side of the ball.

Oh, and don't worry, were cool bro. No harm in disagreeing with me. lol Usually I'm wrong anyways.

I don't think they were ever just luxuries. They're most definitely needs. We need help at both corner and safety. I know we've already recruited 3 safeties, but really none of them are the prospect that Shumate is. If we sign Yuri, he might just be the best CB we get including Tee and Darby.

We need these two and a slot WR at minimum. Hopefully throw in another OT and a QB, maybe an OLB and call it a day.

good catch on te'o, but i can't agree with the defense is better as a whole...the back end of the defense took a drastic step backward this year. going into the year we were worried the problem the depth of our db's not our first 4 and in the end 3 of our first four turned out to be disappointing. if not for jamoris being schemed into using his talents better there would be extreme disappointment from him as well.

really hoping for guys like eilar hardy and jalen brown stepping up next spring and putting pressure on wood and bennett at corner to perform at the highest level possible.

coupled with bringing in guys like shumate, darby and tee (fingers crossed) and hopefully yuri that'll give us the depth we need on the backend to put this defense at elite status.

Per II there is a chance that he will announce at the USAAA game. It would in all likelihood be ND.

Okay, the secondary isn't as good as last year, but again I wouldn't blame that on coaching. Unless you want to blame scheme, then yea, we gave up some chunk throws due to scheme, but we still had a solid pass defense.

Depth hurt the hell out of us though, and I do think Darby and Tee and possibly Yuri can jump in and help out big time. We've also heard good things about the young guys. We're going to be building talented depth and not just depth hopefully.

Basing it off of what Floyd said it sounds like Jalen Brown is going to turn out to be a solid corner for us. Especially if he worked Big Mike over good and proper.

ISD power hour today said either Atkinson or Brown will beat out Lo Wood for the starting corner spot opposite BJax and Tee would be in the rotation once the season starts.

Lo wood is 5'9" and runs like a 4.55. How he even got a offer still shocks me.

I assume the starting secondary will be BJax and Brown with Atkinson/Wood as the Nickle with Motta and Slaughter as the safeties. Getting in the rotation and maybe even starting would be Tee.

Collinsworth and Hardy getting reps at safety too.

10000% pure guess work by me.

No warm bodies at corner..... that's how he got an offer. He's a gritty, instinctive player though and I won't take that away from him. Kinda like the Tommy Rees of our DBs.

Heard that they are working hardy at corner too so we may have him playing opposite bennett

Seems that group has a lot of potential especially when Tee and Shumate with possibly Yuri joining the group.

Like who? Are u some professional recruiter? If u are not in the program with the coaches, I would not question their eval's on players and who they offer.

Corner is the most difficult position in football...Lo is a good kid that works hard, he will be fine.
