It's a done deal according to USC insiders BEFORE the season even started. Now he is a lock top 3-5 pick.

So unless an encouraging season changed his mind and he wants to pull a Leinart (risk tens of millions of dollars for a shot at a NC... only to not win it, drop 10 spots, and then never be a starting QB in the NFL) I don't see it happening. Yes, it's a possibility.... but very VERY unlikely.

Carson is a good fit for Oakland. Wouldn't think that would be a high priority for the Raiders.

Washington and Jacksonville seem most likely IMO.

Edit: Washington and Jacksonville = LOL!

Oakland gave up their first rounder in 2012 to get Palmer. They don't have the option to go get Barkley.

Probably our 4 toughest games next year will be against teams with a new quarterback. CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Listening to him talk, though, you have to wonder about his decision. He talks about how he wants that "USC" experience...win the conference, go to the Rose Bowl, compete for a National Championship. I don't think that this is a done deal (much as I would like to see him go). I would lean on him coming back. They are LOADED next season (20/22 starters back I heard), and though not deep, they could make a serious run at the BCSNGC.

There is no National Championship for them next year, are they not on probation still?

Rookie Salary Capped.

Yessir...there was an interview Lane Kiffin had where he pretty much stated that (paraphrasing)..."that unless he wants to become a special trojan, he's as good as gone. There isn't anything left to prove to NFL scouts and he's playing as well as any QB at the nation...I expect him to be gone..."

Now, it was all very candid. However, I wouldn't jump on a thing that P.O.S. has to say!!

Their bowl ban ends this year. They can compete for the NC in 2012.

The impending rookie salary cap was a compelling reason to declare early last year. Now that it's in place, it shouldn't really affect anyone's decision. Players are still weighing millions of dollars against an extra year in college; the 1st rounders are just weighing a few million less.

Pretty sure most juniors do this just to check their draft status, but it seems he is gone unless he wants to be #1 overall next year. He is also due to graduate in May which leaves no reason to stay for educational reasons.

He can declare and come back though so long as he doesn't hire an agent right. Luck, Barkley, and RG3 are all ahead of him so I doubt he is going anywhere.

really cleveland? with mccoy just getting started?

I'd take Barkley over McCoy in a second and twice on Sunday. I was never sold on McCoy and having watch him play, I'm convinced that he's not the direction the Browns need to roll in.

Barkley, Luck, J Harris (although it might be good for Irish fans if he was back) Cousins, and Jones all potentially gone. Have to feel pretty good about that.

I will quickly become a Barkley/Luck fan if the skins manage to land either one some way or another.
