Love the kid's arm. It's a freaking rocket. But needs to put a little touch on the ball. That can be taught, arm strength cannot.

At this point, Hendrix isn't a clearly better option than Rees.

Debatable. Rees beat a lot of mediocre teams with his arm, the USC and Miami wins last year were hard-fought games won by the defense.

Every time someone brings up a 12-3 starting record or whatever it it, it's a disservice to the other 84 guys on scholarship.

Hendrix's performance against Stanford, a damn fine team, was tremendous considering the circumstances.

I don't normally second guess coaches, because I'm not "in the know" or nearly as knowledgeable, but I would scratch my head pretty hard if Hendrix doesn't start against Florida State. It's just too easy for an athletic defense to defend Rees. It's as simple as that.

After watching Andrew against the best team we faced all season it just kind of makes me even more angry that BK let Tommy play the whole year. If he could come in against that defense and play that good, why couldn't he have done that against lesser opponents? I am sick of the 12-3 crap for Tommy. He beat exactly 1 really good team. And in that game he had 161 yards and 2 TO's! He beat Army/Navy/Wake/etc. How did he do against USC with Barkley? How about Stanford? How about Michigan?

At least Andrew got some huge experience. And he raised his game with the lights on and the pressure on. And Tommy folded. Plain and simple.

Keep Andrew in and let it be a Everett and Andrew show next year. Still makes me mad that Tommy got all the reps and has the experience, while Andrew has 7-10 plays the entire year up to Stanford.

I love Coach Kelly and think he will bring us back, but this is one mistake he has made--Riding Turnover Tommy toooooooo long.

Tommy, think you are a great kid just not a good QB against good teams. Fine if we are playing inferior teams, otherwise you are a turnover machine if there is a good defense. Stats don't lie, good teams = MASS Turnovers.

Great job Andrew, pressure on and you raised your game.

I really feel so bad for the kid! I hope and pray that he succeeds and gets his chance to be successful. I think he would be a very good NFL QB I just hope someone gives him the opportunity.

Oh the INT, i blame completly on adrenaline and inexperience. It seems obvious to me he saw the ref and threw it over his head, it just went a lil to high. most qbs just throw it thru the refs cuz they usually duck which that ref did.

Agreed. Gotta remember he was thrown into the flames against a top 5 team on the road at night, not to mention the first time that Brian Kelly was actually calling non-option plays for him as well. Can't wait to see what he does with some preparation and experience, and until so it's tough to judge him based on 30 minutes of performance. First semblance of the ideal spread offense I've seen in 2 years though from this team.

This is the thread where we say nice things about Hendrix and stop being bitter about Rees.

Sorry about your inability to comprehend what was written. You inferred something I didn't imply. Here's Military Irish's OP comments.

"Didn't want to make it a debate on who should start or who is better." Did that register before you dropped your gauntlet?

Did you notice my entire reply was based on the bolded last two sentences ? (I put those sentences in BOLD for emphasis so the feeble minded would not get into a urinating contest as Military hoped)?

I addressed only the "could have easily been won" comment. I never singled out any QB but rather noted INCLUSIVELY that all were afflicted by the untimely pass, sack, Military had noted. I added the fumble as all three QBs shared that as well. I didn't single anyone out nor compare any of them, did I?

Clausen, Quinn, or Montana, Joe not the walk-on, would not have won that game "easily" with what was probably the worse performance of the OLine this season. Cave was sorely missed. The young TE looked like a turnstile.

If you followed the body of my comments since last Spring (they're still up on the board) you'll find I consistently wished for the QB that gave the team the best chance to win would be the one selected to play. I consistently stated "I have no horse in the race" and posted, "May the best man win".

I chided inane comments about a 170 pound QB starting in an offense where the QB takes a pounding, I noted that calls for record setting QB performance and a Heisman were baseless where that QB hadn't shown he had mastered the offense yet, I commented in the Spring and in the Fall on "cannon arms" and "weak arms" and freshman that had to learn "the system". And when posters again made inane comments like yours I responded accordingly, objectively not in support my candidate as I didn't have one then or now.

I gave kudos to Hendrix in the Game Day thread. I acknowledged his strengths and left the negative aspects to others. There are "fans" here whose M.O. is denigration.

I responded in this thread to one aspect of Military's OP. Why can't you respect his wish in that OP? I did.

I did infer incorrectly. I will make up for my feeble mined and inane comment by furiously pouring over all of your comments since the spring.

I can't believe how many tackles that field had. The players footwork was terrible.

for the record I am not impressed at all with AH. Specifically his accuracy. I hope EV is ready sooner rather than later.

I am a fan of Andrew Hendrix. I am also a fan of Tommy Rees and any other player that puts on the golden helmet. I really hope that they don't read these threads as I think the personal attacks are over the top.

I don't presume to know that AH is the man after one half of football....mainly because I have seen TR do the same thing during a game early on. Lets all take a deep breath and keep the personal attacks to a minimum.

All i know is Hendrix is the perfect fit for coach Kelly offense, im a big Tommy Rees supporter but i think starting Hendrix in the bowl is a perfect idea. Whoever we play will not plan for Hendrix for a full game, plus it gets him big game experience

I saw only 2 'bad' throws; throws I would say were uncatchable (not intentionally thrown away or apparent misreads).

I think Hendrix played well, for his first meaningful snaps. But it's funny how receivers "bail out" Rees, if he isn't exactly on target, but Hendrix is not inaccurate, if he throws a ball that a receiver has to make a significant adjustment to.

The big thing that Hendrix brought to the field was that the defense couldn't just pin their ears back and berserker rush the QB. They had to maintain discipline, to keep Hendrix from running all over them. But none of that will make much of a difference, if he doesn't mature pretty quickly. Here's hoping he will
