If we had never discontinued our Miami series, do you think they would be our #1 rivals or atleast #2 in front of scUM.

I believe that they would be #2.

*edit for clarification: USC will always be first.*

No, they wouldn't even be #3 behind #1 Southern Cal and #2 UM.

ND and Miami have played 24 times with Miami winning 7. More than half of those wins came against Gerry Faust. Splitting 4 games with Holtz

Miami has a long and rich history of NCAA sanctions. The program started in 1937. They became a Major Division Program in 1946 and within 7 years achieved 3 years of NCAA sanctions. They were and still are a degenerate program.

I don't know, would be hard to push USC to third. A lot of years and great games there.

What ever happened to USC? I enjoy beating them more than anyone else, it just hasn't happened enough in the last 10 years :dead:

We certainly have some relatively recent history with Miami to make it more than "just another game", but ND vs Miami has nowhere near the history of ND vs USC, ND vs UM, etc. etc.

USC is always Notre Dame's main rival. Then usually Michigan but occasionally a heated stretch against another program can overtake it, such as Penn St. Miami or even BC.

However looking at history Michigan is the reason we started traveling away from the midwest. Michigan showed how to play then tried to get other schools not play us because we were becoming too good. So that being said screw michigan I hate them more rhan usc. USC is what it is because they are from a foreign place for us midwestern people.
