Would be interesting to watch Michigan's recruiting class take some hits in the coming weeks if they lose to OSU and their bowl game + Meyer. I think you're going to see a lot of guys like Kyle Kalis start to waffle.

The USC program thought the exact same thing about their sanctions that Meyer and OSU fans are thinking, and they got burned. OSU did WAY worse IMO than USC, so I hope the NCAA continues to show a spine and they wax OSU in the same fashion they did USC. They deserve it...

I hope so...I'd rather OSU get the studs over Michigan just because ND plays Michigan every year.

I don't think he steals any, but he might dip into the Michigan recruit pool. I am nervous how this will affect our recruiting down the road though.

This is why I didn't want him at OSU. Jalin Marshall, Taco Charlton, Jaylon Smith, etc. become that much harder to recruit.

Ya relax, you guys act like Tressel couldn't recruit at all and now that Urb is there he is going to clean house. It won't be that way it will just be like Tressel never left. Plus I am sure Urb will bring up more Fla kids than ever before. The south is where the real talent lies anyway.

Urb is a much better recruiter then Tressel. They were saying on ESPN that he is going to make his biggest impact on recruiting. His classes at Florida were thought of as some of the greatest of all time. The man can recruit and that is bad news for a lot of other Midwest schools.

My point is Ohio State has had at least a top 15 class depending on the site you look for about the last 10 years. Mixed in with a couple number one overall classes. It's not like since Urban is now there they are going to go from outside the top 25 to top 5 every year. The jump won't be as drastic as you think. They recruited good players before and they will do it again. And like I said earlier he will probably bring a lot of kids from Florida/the South.

Man, Urban's so good that he's going to take 75 to midwest recruits every single year. We're screwed!!!

I think it's going to hurt us a bit in recruiting, but man, you're taking it overboard. ND has to recruit against great coaches all over the country. We had to compete against Petey in CA, Urban in FL, Tressel at OSU, etc etc etc. And yet we still landed 4-5 star recruits in all those areas, and we had the top recruiting class in the country in 2008 - recruiting against those very coaches I just mentioned - Urbie included.

How many times do we really go up against OSU head-to-head in recruiting? It's less than you might think. There are many times where we just recruit a different type of kid. We'll definitely lose some to Urban, but we lost those very same kids to Tressel, b/c those Ohio kids grew up rooting for and loving OSU. That's not going to change with Urban there. And he can only take 25 a year anyway. I think it'll hurt Michigan much worse than it'll hurt us. (And again, I think it'll hurt us, but c'mon, follow recruiting a little closer and see where we get our kids and where OSU gets theres, and what kind of kids OSU pulls.)

we won't be hurting in ohio anymore than we were when tressel was recruiting there...he had the state on lockdown too, so i don't see any thing changing too drastically.

It will hurt us with top-flight guy a bit. I think it will help us with the highly rated 3-stars in Ohio who now wont get an offer, as one would expect Meyer to get at least 1/4 of his recruiting class from down South and leave some other guys leftover.

we've usually done well getting the high three stars in ohio...i think we're drastically underrating how good ohio state was at recruiting with tressel...i'll agree with l.a., we recruit totally different kids...realistically the last top flight guy we beat ohio st out of head to head was matt james, god bless his soul
