I just noticed the game is at FedEx Field and not Byrd Stadium. Luck y'all.

It seems to me that Danny O'Brien is a lot like Tanner Price. They're both talented young QBs with decent mobility. I was wondering if their skill players are as athletic as Wake Forest's were?

52 -7 this will be a kool-aid game and everyone will think we should be ranked and they will be wrong.

Well aren't you kind..

I don't see Notre Dame holding them to 7 points having to replace Te'o and the DL. I just don't see it.

I also don't see the Irish scoring 52 if they aren't able to hold them to 7 and without Cave they won't run as well.

I see 35-20 as the likely scenario.

Golic looked good last week . I live in mass watched BC and they beat them bad . This is the worst BC team I have seen in my lifetime and they scored 28 points on them I think. I do agree with you the 7 points maybe off with all them out though.

If some of these other 2-3 loss teams drop another game this weekend and ND trounces MD why shouldn't the Irish be ranked? Some of those team in the 20s this week have only beaten cupcakes and have lost all of their tough games (e.g. Baylor). A lot of people think ND shouldn't be ranked because they haven't lived up to pre-season expectations. However, put them up against some of those other ranked teams, and the Irish don't look so bad, all things being equal. That's not just the Kool-Aid talking; put ND up against Texas, Baylor, ASU and we don't look so bad.

He plays and you take him out asap if ND has a big lead

I'd actually argue the other way. I think Te'o should only play if we are really struggling on defense. If he rests, he could be close to 100% when we play Stanford, which is when he would really be needed.

Amend my earlier post, forgot that ASU got dropped from the rankings. I still stand by my overall point, though.

Agree. Esp. since if you can win without him vs Maryland, it's essentially three weeks off, since you can easily beat BC without him.

I don't think we should have much problem here. We should still be able to run the ball good and Efiert should have another good game.

Rushing yards allowed per game:

Miami (FL): 172
West Virginia: 92
Temple: 285
Towson: 161
Georgia Tech: 272
Clemson: 306

Florida State: 218
Boston College: 372 (without Montel Harris)
Virginia: 220

Simply put, their run defense is absolutely terrible.

Other points of note:

- 92nd in scoring offense (22 points per game)

- 89th in scoring defense (31 points per game)

- As a team, they have thrown 13 interceptions

Run the ball, protect the ball... and our boys should win this game...

though my PTSD Notre Dame fandom is expecting BK to insist on passing the ball, and a number of Irish turnovers...

wouldn't shock me if they drop this game one bit...

I am from Maryland and i think those unis are sweet. But what would be really sweet is to see on the score board ND-56 MD-14

Yeah I like those unis too. I understand the backlash because they're pretty shocking at first glance, but I think they're really cool, especially the helmet.

If we show up to play and protect the ball we should not have any problems this Saturday. With that being said.., I am nervous because if we play sloppy ball and not perform on the field the way we know how, then this game gets a little scary. If we play turnover free, then I see this game being an Irish blowout.

1. Maryland probably has the coolest state flag around... and I actually like those unis on some levels.
2. This team is better than their record, but not by much. They have some speed on offense but their big issue is that their defense wears down extremely quickly and then ends up getting gashed in the later phases of the game. As long as we don't give up some early scores to give them confidence I don't see them beating us.
3. Last week they played UVa at home and didn't even half fill the stands... and went on to give up some serious second half points and lose big. I'm really not too worried about them getting "up" for the game when they couldn't get up for a rival.
4. It's going to be interesting to see if there are more ND fans at this game than Maryland fans.
