more along the lines of prison rape

Unless Maryland has somehow recruited the Squirrel Master.... Then we're screwed. My guess is Louis Nix would have the "naughty jungle of love" Maryland should be worried about.

ND would be a semi-credible team at 7-3. Don't get too over-confident, this game reeks of what we are used to seeing when given a shot at credibility. Hope we win, plain and simple.

Im driving from Ny to DC for the game this weekend. I will be driving through Maryland. does anyone know if Darby has a game this friday? I would love to stop in and see his game on the way up.

Darby's Potomac High School plays Saturday afternoon at 1 pm at home in Oxon Hill. Oxon Hill is not far from Fed Ex Field, so you could possibly do both. Address of the high school is: 5211 Boydell Ave, Oxon Hill, MD 20745, if you want to GPS it, but I don't know if they play at the high school, or elsewhere.

Notre Dame 30y ROI: $1,623,900
Maryland 30y ROI: $563,752

The Derps offer: (1) $1,060,148 less over 30y; (2) $35,338 less per year; or (3) roughly 1/3 the value of a ND degree.

There was an ad on the radio today (93.9 for those in the DC area) that was trying to get kids to come to a college fair at College Park. Said in the ad if you bring your transcript and test scores you could get accepted on the spot... I don't know how you can look a kid in the eyes and tell him Maryland has better academics with their grad rate, ROI, and ads like this. It's all smoke and mirrors on a 2 win team that is never going anywhere and I hope Darby sees through it.

Maryland academics = LOL

I kid you not, there was an ad on the radio today (93.9 for those in the DC area) that was trying to get kids to come to a college fair at College Park. Said in the ad if you bring your transcript and test scores you could get accepted on the spot. Granted, this "on the spot" thing could be to one of the Maryland network schools and not the main campus... but I really, really doubt someone with Darby's intelligence is going to buy the line about "great academics" and early PT and whatever else Edsall is trying to sell. It's all smoke and mirrors on a 2 win team that is never going anywhere.

I'm a Terp and it's a pretty good school.

Maryland provides its graduates with a seven-figure 30y return, which is respectable; it puts them in the top 30% of the BCS as far as degree value goes.

But when it comes to graduating its athletes, Maryland does not do a good job-- 59% overall GSR for football players, and 56% for black football players. Compare that to ND's 97% and 100% GSR rates, and ND ends up offering football recruits roughly 3 times the value that Maryland does.

I'm sure 247 will be late to the party again but I'll post if an update comes from them.

Looks like ISD has an update on Darby's visit (premium). Hopefully Sapp gets some info soon so I can read it.

can't imagine he came away un-impressed...if he leaves (and i doubt that) it will simply be a factor of distance from home.

He is still being pursued by a couple of different SEC teams and clemson and maryland but I read somewhere that it was between us and Maryland and that they were selling playing time, academics and something else.

I honestly do not think he flips

nor do i...i think he's too smart of a kid that sees the writing on the wall, that he's going to see the field. he will be a raw corner his first year, but that speed will get him away with a lot, while he works out the kinks.
