NJ has done something no other state has done before with having three teams to hold the #1 national ranking in major high school sports.

Basketball- #1 St. Anthony, Jersey City, NJ
(Final 2010-11 poll )

Football- #1 Don Bosco Prep, Oradell, NJ

Soccer- #1 St. Benedict's Prep, Newark, NJ

California was tied with NJ in having two teams ranked #1 previously.

The basketball at St. Anthony's doesn't surprise, they are always unreal. Don Bosco always has a good program, but this year they have an elite amount of talent on that team, more D1 players than probably any highschool in the country.

I'm surprised PA never had two in the 80s or 90s. There were a handful of football teams #1 and I thought at least one of the Philly basketball teams were as well.

They do have a lot of elite talent:

Darius Hamilton -5 star
Yuri Wright- 4 star
Elijah Shumate -4star
Mike Strizak- BC
Leonte Carroo- Rutgers
Tyler Samra- Uconn
Al-Quadine Muhammad- Class of 2013

But Warren Central in Indy currently has more D-1 talent (according to Rivals). I am sure there is probably another school that even has more.

Sheldon Day-ND
Kevin Davis-IU
Jordan Wallace-IU
Jordan Shine-Purdue
Jonathan Burt -Cincinnati
Josh Posley- Cincinnati
Deyshawn Bond- Cincinnati
Darnell Smith- Ball State
Deionte Buckley- Cincinnati
Kaleb Humphrey- D-1 Offers
Tim Kimbrough- Class of 2013

Aaaa yes true, but Don Bosco has more elite talent. You are also not counting freshman and sophomores. Don Bosco has Peppers son, who is a sophomore, and is considered to have the most talent on the team.

As in Julius Peppers? If so, does the son look like he will have his father's frame?

He better be at the top of our list.

Bosco was downgraded on Rivals to the #6 team in the nation despite beating PC this week 45-0. They think that while the defense is probably the tops in the nation, the offense (mainly because of shaky QB play) is not "National Title material".

...and Boys Cross Country in Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft. Just was highlighting major sports for the record.

Who goes by rivals? Lol

Don't we discount them in recruiting services.?

The Bermuda Triangle will have a distinctly different feel this year since Coach Boyle leaving and along with no returning starters foer St. Patrick. St Pat's did bring in some talent this year but won't be able to touch St. Ant's. They are even probably a notch below Hudson Catholic and Roselle Catholic. RC post the 30 day waiting period will be very very dangerous. Too bad they meet St. Ant's prior to the completion of the sit period.

Also, Hurley can;t do this forever...

St Pat's and St. Ant's have very gloomy futures.

Yes, apparently Peppers had him at a really young age. Kid doesn't have his fathers frame. The younger Peppers plays CB and RB. As noted above the best sophomore in the country. I've read that scouts believe he is the best player currently on Don Bosco.

New jersey also has the best wrestling program in Blair academy. My high school last year produced four state champions which is the most by any school since 1947. We've been ranked in the top 3 every year since like 2005

Warren has the best players in the country. but no team discipline, thats the reason a physically inferior Cathedral team nearly beat them in week 2, however they are going to dominate the 5a (highest division) state tourney

I don't know I think that my alma mater, Ohio's Oregon Cardinal Stritch might have the best talent in the country. Definitely top 25...
