Can we please see what Kendall Moore can do at Inside linebacker?

The inside inside linebacker spot opposite of Teo has been a weakness for years. Calabrese is slow, can't cover and makes stupid penalties. Dan Fox gets constantly pushed around and is just not that good. Lets see what Moore can do.

I don't care what anyone says, I think this team can possibly be great next year. ND just need to sit down the weak players and start playing the younger players with more potential in preparation for next year.

I said at the very beginning of the year this was my biggest concern. Brian Smith played at such a high level at that ILB spot to end the year, and we have not gotten play close to that level from either Fox or Carlo this year.

We need EJ to get healthy. I hope he doesn't play this week against Navy because they will be chopping at his legs. But our run D is simply not the same without him. And our ILB situation scares the crap out of me for next year if Te'o leaves.

We need someone to replace Prince Shembo. Terrible. And this wasn't the first game he's been beyond bad.

Good points and agree with most. I don't think switching to a 4-3 is really the answer. I'm not a huge fan of the 3-4, but switching back and forth is a loser, and one reason we're where we are today. I'd rather see BK continue to recruit to the 3-4, give it 4 years with the incoming talent. If it doesn't work, let the next coach make the decision. CW waffled and it didn't buy us anything.

But I do agree 1000% that we need to get the young guys in. USC and every other elite team gets the best players on the field when it comes to Skill, and Big Skill. Not a fan of throwing OL into the mix early, but if you get rock star like EA, put the beef in.

Calabrese should be kicked off the team.

Don't be ridiculous. Why do you always have to take it too far? Terrible, terrible decision and penalty, no doubt. And I agree with the OP that I would like to see what Moore can do. But I am a little glad that at least someone showed some real emotion out there last night.

We can't keep having this defeatist attitude expecting Murphy's Law every time something doesn't go exactly are way, and we can't keep losing our confidence and fire so quickly.

Was Carlo wrong, absolutely. Does he know it, yea probably. Is he the answer at that position, probably not. But he is a kid that plays hard and let his emotions get the better of him. I like his fire, not the way he went about showing it. He's a good kid and no punk, and certainly doesn't deserve any ridiculous fan to implore him being dismissed from the team.

Not one of our LBs played well... except for maybe Fleming. No reason to point fingers because it was collective suck. Even Te'o. But it all starts with our DL getting bullied.

Miss you EJ.

The refs were laying for it...you have to know if you bring in a ref crew from one of the conferences, ND is going to get NO breaks...Carlo should know better...

I thought it was intersting that after Woods diving catch in the endzone, the first thing he did was mock the "we eatin" thing...Flag anyone?

I think Carlo's was quesitonable in terms of intent...no question what Woods was doing...just typical BS double standard by second rate refs...

No excuses...we did more than enough without refs to eff ourselves...and again Crlo needs to know there is no room for any of it.

To quote an old man presumably NOT named Mike, "There's a good f'in reason that Kelly is the coach and not you!"

Calabrese should be kicked off the team.

If it's for his penalty, you're a dumbass.

If it's for his play, you're still a dumbass.

Carlo is FAR from the team's biggest problem.

I can't believe that so many people are jumping ship and calling for heads. I'm not content with 4-3 but it could be a lot ****ing worse.

I would agree that our LB play has been rough but you earn playing time and if he isn't earning it in practice what makes you think that he will perform well in a game (and yes I don't know how he is in practice but Kelly has show a willingness to play young players that have earned it in practice)?

Maybe we will see this week. BK was clearly not happy last night nor today and he said practice was not going to be fun this week.

I feel that a 4-3 is a better fit for our personnel.

~45% of the time they're in a 4-3 anyway.

~100% of the time it's the same seven guys. There would be no difference.

If you can't fluctuate between a 3-4 and 4-3, you aren't a good defensive staff. Diaco does a fine job of mixing it up.
