I will gladly respond to this. Kelly is an Irish Catholic who has won, and won convincingly, as a head coach at every level of college football. He has recieved endorsement from the AD and he apparently understands Notre Dame more than some students who have attended ND. That is coming from our athletic director himself. So I again ask you IrishChris, do you have a better plan? Do you have another coach in mind? Who the hell are you to question Notre Dame's head coach?

Two personal foul calls, Crist fumble, backwards pass fumble, and Rees triple coverage INT. Tough to win that way. Couldn't stop the run up the gut. Didn't seem like Diaco made the necessary adjustments. Still don't understand Lo Wood being out there to dry. Lot's of what ifs. Gotta learn and get stronger from this.

How the f*** did we lose this game? I'm telling you, the bye week was a killer. Too much time to let the rust set in and overthink things. I am the least of a typical "blame Tommy" guy, but couldn't you just tell the difference between leadership like Barkley's and Tommy/Crist?

Barkley does what it takes to win, in big games, makes plays, runs for first downs when he's dead-to-rights. I'm not saying that Barkley's that great, which is kind of my point -- this type of QB leadership is found in 5 - 10 QB's around the country each year...

But once we get that type of play from the QB position, look out...

As much hope as I had for ND football this year, I am, surprisingly even to myself, not as disappointed as I thought I would be. It is clear that, even yet, we haven't been beat. We have beaten ourselves. We've got a really, really, good team. Just need to put it all together and cut out the bullshit mistakes.

Looking on the bright side, the new gold helmets looked great. The uniforms, although just our regular ones, appeared downright snazzy. And you just can't beat hearing the introduction to "Crazy Train" about a hundred times or so. Great sound system. And the towels! All I can say is "wow!."

Too bad it takes more than gimmicks to win football games.
