Okay, I haven't used my own thread in a little while so here is something to get the thread going:

When you were a kid, what did you want to be?

A toothpick salesman.

I don't recall wanting to be anything cool, but my grade school buddy wanted to be either (1) an assassin, or (2) a gynecologist.

Was good for a laugh back in the day, but in retrospect, I'm pretty sure the reality of being a gynecologist is 180 degrees from the 4th grade ideal.

I find it hilarious that guys say that in their teen years they want to be gynecologists because as a teenager you just know "Hey! They get to see pussy all the time!" (Sorry, but that's how any teenager is going to say it lol), but when you think about what a gynecologist does...well, they do and see all the things that I don't want to see with a vagina.

My grandfather was a gynecologist. I just can't imagine delivering all the kids he did. Delivery is...ew. lol

As a kid I wanted to be a vigilante like Charles Bronson in the Death Wish movies, roaming the country, and taking out punks everywhere. As an adult, I still day dream about this from time to time, especially when some jackass gang member pulls up next to me blasting their bass with that rap crap.

When I was a kid, when I was a little boy, I always wanted to be a dinosaur, I wanted to be a Tyrannosaurus Rex more than anything in the world, I made my arms short and I roamed the back yard, I chased the neighborhood cats, I growled and I roared, everybody knew me and was afraid of me, and one day my dad said "Bobby you are 17, it's time to throw childish things aside" and I said "OK Pop", but he didn't really say that he said that "Stop being a ****ing dinosaur and get a job".

In all honesty, I watched Top Gun and it blew my mind. I wanted to become a fighter pilot, my dream was crushed 6 months later when I went in for my first ever eye exam.

I wanted to be Ron Santo. When I was not pitching, I played third base. I was a power hitter. I always wore number 10. And, like Ron in '69, I would run off the field after a game clicking my heels. My team-mates even called me Ron Santo.

Then, I got older and wanted to be Mick Jagger. I guess I still do. But, it would have to be the old, fat, Mick. Kind of like the old, fat Elvis as contrasted to the young, svelte, Elvis.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a plumber. I thought it'd be fun to go down pipes and stomp on Goombas, but obviously my perception wasn't correct. After that I wanted to be a priest for a little while. Then puberty hit, and that changed pretty fast. Eventually I realized how much I enjoy working with computers and got a degree in software programming. Right now I'm just doing QA/software support for a company, but the pay is good and I semi enjoy what I'm doing. I mean, I can post on IE at night when it's slow, so thats a perk
