So if we don't win by 30 points most of the board members will completely freak out right?

It would just be nice to blow out a team we are suppose to blow out. Instead of games taking years off my life, it would be nice just to be able to enjoy the freaking game and watch ND light it up, on BOTH sides of the ball.

Most of the board members aren't freaking out. It's great to get a win on the road against a rival. It's just disapointing to see the same mistakes over and over again. Im not going to sit here and list the many different things or make a Rees/Crist arguement, it would just be nice to beat a bad team the way a good team should.

I wont freak out, but ill be upset. I like many others want a blow out so we can see another QB take some snaps. I'd love nothing mroe than such a dominant half the we could maybe play someone new behind center for almost all the 4th quarter.

If we lose though it will be the same people who are satisfied with the Pitt win that will start all kinds of thread saying 1 of 2 things:

1- They should finish the season @ 9-3 and might still have an outside chance at a BCS bowl.

2- Wait til BK has all of his players.

I thought if we lose more than 2 we couldnt get into a BCS bowl at all? Maybe Im wrong.

I disagree. Many of them are. Read the gameday thread. Read the 1,639 Rees threads. Yesterday, many people were acting like we lost. Not saying you freaked out, but MANY did. And bro, you are not privy to the many, many deleted posts that the mods have to deal with.

People were most definitely freaking out.

Now we won't. You're being absolutely ridiculous. If we lose to Purdue, we will be in meltdown mode, and rightfully so. When we lost to USF and Michigan, I was out of my mind depressed. But winning on the road against Pitt, who we were supposed to beat by 3.5, is not going to get me depressed. Sorry. You want to freak out, be my guest. You want to complain, be my guest. No problem with it, but it's personally not something I'm going to do.

But don't try and put words in my mouth or others people's mouths by saying we'll be fine with a loss to Purdue or the other ridiculous crap you just posted. It's like me saying you'll be pissed even if we win by 35. Will you?

EDIT: And in case you missed it on my last post, you're not privy to the many deleted posts that the mods have to deal with. Judging by all the Rees threads and all the deleted posts, many people were absolutely freaking out. And if you still don;t believe me, go read NDNation or ISD - they're still freaking out...

I am not freaking out. Others may be, but don't try and put words in my mouth. I am not happy with performance to date. That's a far cry from freaking out.

I am being ridiculous? You said it yourself... You are privy to the many posts the mods deal with, and yet you really don't agree that those two comments are used year in and year out? Maybe not by you, but you being the all mighty mod you are should definatley know that those are all but a guarentee if and when ND loses.

You want everybody to listen to your respones to everything, yet when anybody says anything you disagree with, its ridiculous... Typical response.

I really did not intend for the Crist vs Rees thread to turn into what it has, simply showing an article written with stats thrown in.

They are starting to roll. Winning the way they did at Pitt was good in my opinion because it shows they can win the ugly games. So many times in the past 10 years have we seen just the opposite and it usually was a 33-30 type of game we would lose late.

The winning is being done not in ways we are not used to. It is being done with controlling the line. Our running O and running D have been great and the freshman that have played so far have been great. I can't remember the last time we had some freshman on D and come in and just dominate.

I'm also a defensive type of guy and love stuffing the run and making big hits. I am always pausing and rewinding and pointing things out to my wife who thinks I'm insane and also in the wrong job field. lol

Nice try, but epic, epic fail. Lots of people disagree with me, including my man GOIRISH. He wanted to go to Crist right away in the 2nd half, and I disagreed with him. And it's all good. We all have our own opinions.

But show me ONE post here that has said, after a loss to a vastly inferior opponent like Navy or Tulsa or in this case, Purdue, where a poster said, "It's OK, we'll still get to a BCS game." That's complete b.s. and yes, ridiculous. When you say ridiculous things like that or that ""We were told before the season that Crist won the QB competition hands down"...don't get butthurt when people call you out on it. Own it and move on.

I never said you were freaking out. I said people were freaking out, and that's the absolute truth. It's not even an opinion...read the gameday thread. And I said you MAY be freaking out, and you MAY be complaining, but I'm not.

But hey, nice 'all mighty mod' crack...even though it has nothign to do with anything. I didn't delete your post, I didn't 'want everyone to read it', and I didn't say you couldn't post your opinion. I'm just another poster, calling you out on some b.s.

Honestly, I had to stop reading/posting in the gameday thread for a lot of the game because of the amount of freaking out and the absurdity of a lot of the things that were being posted.

There are certainly legitimate things to be concerned about with this team, but there is no reason why we have to have all this hysteria about it rather than just discussing it rationally.

I have a few questions and a comment for everyone here at IE, both members and mods, I ask it with all the respect in the world. I'm in no way trying to be a smart @$$, I very much like being a member here and don't want to be banned or anything. If my post is too rebelious please just delete it and send me a PM not to ask stuff like this again and I won't.

Are we only suppose to exchange pleasantries here? Are we only suppose to agree on everything or try to put a positive spin on what we feel is poor play or coaching? Why are members refered to as "complainers", "dumb", "freaking out", "whiners" or "bitching" if they have an opposing or negative opinion about the way our team/players played or decisions the coaching staff makes? I thought a forum is suppose to invite discussion not discourage opinions.

I hope nobody gets mad about me asking this....I'm hitting submit with my eyes closed.

Good questions....I have been on here a while longer than you and I have that question. Since I have been on I have never experienced personal attacks on debatable issues.

Neut, I mean BobD (inside joke with a couple posters), opinions, differing or not, are allowed and welcomed. Those people are not dumb, they just have different opinions.

I said freak out, because people were freaking out. Begging for Rees to get injured, screaming at EVERY single mistake the team made, cussing out other posters who preached patience (we did win in the end you know), etc etc etc, is freaking out.

There's a ton of healthy debate on this site...not sure where you think it's being muted. Lord knows I could be wrong as I've been wrong plenty of times before (I said Crist should start the season and was sorely wrong). I'm responding to a lot of it right now b/c tomorrow I won't have time b/c of work. And when I argue a point I argue it strongly, or at least try to. The only person I've had an issue with is ND_Will_Return, b/c he was saying stuff that simply wasn't true, and then acting like it was true (and then he said he was 'taken out of context' LOL).

As far as calling people 'complainers'...are they not complaining? If ND wins by the exact Vegas line, and people are complaining, well, they are complainers, at least to me. And if people see the good in everything, and ignore the bad, are they not sunshine pumpers? We have names for everyone, do we not? (There are a ton of names being thrown at me all the time LOL!!!)
