Robert Blanton

[The Gold Helmets]

Even though this is his first year as a full time starter, Blanton has played a lot of football for the Irish. I'm somewhat surprised that he has been the playmaker in the secondary with Gray and Smith back there. Thoughts?

what i found to be pretty interesting...was that last year when Utah came in...he had a hell of a game which sparked our run....people were calling the MSU game this years Utah and again Blanton has his best game and dominates!!! hope this continues our streak towards the end of the year again!

Blanton has been a player maker from the moment he stepped on campus as a freshman. He kinda disappeared his sophomore year but that was during the Tenuta experiment.

In 2008, he had a pick 6 against Purdue as a freshman right before half which sparked our team to go on and win the game. Last year he had the blocked punt td return against Utah which changed the game. And this year the interception to seal the game against MSU. Blanton has always been good. Idk why he's so overlooked.

I gotta admit, during Blanton's sophomore season in 2009, I thought he was absolutely terrible. Glad to see him improve the past 2 years to where he's been arguably our biggest playmaker on defense this fall so far.

It's a little pricey for a bourbon ($40-$50), but it's damned good. Probably my favorite whiskey.

All of the Van Winkle labels are fantastic. Ever tried Pappy Van Winkle's 20-year? $100/ bottle. Mythical stuff; I haven't had an opportunity to try it yet.

I haven't officially stopped drinking all whiskey other than scotch, but it has gotten to the point that its pretty much all I drink. But if I can ever find any Pappy anywhere I will buy as much as they will sell/serve me. I haven't, to my knowledge, been in the same place at the same time as the legendary stuff, but I've been told it is worth every penny that is asked for it.

It evaporates on your tongue, leaving you with a finish of caramel/butter...amazing.

I've only had the 23 yr old which is around 200$ a bottle so it better be the best... (usually around 30 bucks plus a glass in the bar.)

BTW: Blanton has been killing it this year! Way to go RJ!

Agreed, he made every play saturday....his pursuit to the ball was incredibly well done
