My heart has been ripped out as much as any person on this board and any fan of ND football. I have been a diehard for over 30 years. I live and breath IRISH football. I could barely sleep last night after all the heartache. So, I have two choices: Become the biligerant nasty fan that I am seeing many on here. Continue to cheer MY team and the players who need us more than ever.

I choose to be positive fan who will cheer our boys on to a good season that will include a bowl game. We have good players who are giving everything they have. They have made some mistakes, but I see passion and effort by all of them. So, I will cheer them every week. I can still get frustrated, but I love ND and everything about ND football.

Next week, I am asking that all those fans who make the trip to watch ND play MSU, CHEER not boo our guys. They deserve a supportive fan base. If you think the booing does not anger and dissapoint them, go watch Teo's interview this past week.

Go IRISH, I will cheer you every week!!! Thanks for great effort last night. The breaks will start going our way very very soon. On to victory against MSU!!!

Is it me or did the scUM continue to cheer their team throughout the game. At least that's how it seemed on TV. ND fans need to get their heads out of their collective arses and support their team. We've lost 2 heartbreakers but there is still plenty of football left. Many fans thought we were done after Tulsa last year only to jump back on after a couple wins.

BEAT MSU !!!

Agreed, but all of us needed a way to vent, I mean how can you not be upset with what happened the past two weeks. I also agree- NO BOOING!

Honestly, I will always remain a ND fan, no University compares. But this loss will take me a while to get over, sorry I'm just heart broken. Thanks for the words of encouragement.

Would never boo ND. Just not sure what to do with the nasea I am experiencing still. Trying to put football in perspective with life but this feeling of disappointment isn't leaving me.
I wouldn't be surprised if some ND fan had a heart attack these past two weeks.I may choose to tape the games and watc tem if ND wins to avoid the stress. I have actually considered taking a valium but have not yet. I have lost my voice 2 weeks ina row for a loss. I do feel awful for this team. Really bummed about CW's fumble since he has been doing so well.

Last night hurt so bad. Back-to-back stomach punch losses. But this is not the time to quit. I don't want to see the players quit. They have been snakebit, but still have a ton to play for. Likewise, this is not the time for fans to quit on this team. The losses have been painful, but we haven't been helpless, just incredibly unlucky and not quite good enough to overcome the bad luck and the untimely mistakes.

This is the time to rally, not to give up. The program is dangerously close to crisis, just 8 days after we all felt like we were close to reemerging as a national power. The talent is there, we just need some things to break our way and get the momentum turned back in the other direction.

We have seen this group pick itself up off the mat and fight back before.

Agreed with the caveat that if they turn the ball over another 5 times. With even more in the red zone I hold the right to boo.

"When people need love and understanding and support the most is when they deserve it the least." -Lou Holtz

Last night was heartbreaking. I was there. I'm still hurting from it just as much as anyone. But... Notre Dame is a special place, and part of that is us standing behind our team, no matter what. I'll be there on Saturday against msu and I'll be as loud as anyone.

GO IRISH.

ESPN needs to send that filter over to NBC, because I didn't hear it on the broadcast...

I agree with Jonesy...whats up with the Boo birds...I get the frustration...but come on, if you can't control yourself a) don't drink; or b) don't go to the game.

It appeared, in last week's press conference, Manti was pretty wounded over it...with his angry "I'm not answering that" response to questions related to the Boos. Anybody here think stuff like that might weigh on his decision to come back?

Boos...throwing snowballs when that happened...Come on now...what if that was your 20 y/o kid out there?

I think Dre1919 should print up some foam corks, so folks can cork the boo birds' mouths.

And for the guys who like to throw stuff...we'd need a kit...some gold duct tape, a taser (preferably blue), and a radio(also blue) tuned to ND security's frequency...all with the leprechaun printed on it of course.

Would you say they didn't deserved to be booed going into halftime of the usf game? I will honestly say I booed them then. Was it right? Probably not. But how do you honestly viewer a team off thre field after that showing? Now I will also say the whole game I cheered the d on and cheered the o on (not before the snap) I was yelling and cheering so much that I still don't have my full voice back. What I'm getting at is cheer all the time but you never see it appropriate to let some team know they are doing horrendous?
I will be trying to regain my voice and will try my best to cheer as much as possible this sat. Just wanted to ask that question.

Tend to agree. The scums 112k fans cheering in unison, waving those frilly sticks throughout the fourth quarter was quite the sight on TV. I couldn't imagine what that would looked like in person.

If they don't want to be booed they need to execute.

no argument about execution, and the frustration...I get it!

However, Boos are juvenile, selfish grunts of disapproval from people who lack the sobriety or intellect, or both, to deal with THEIR disappointment and who take advantage of the relative anonymity a stadium provides to launch on kids who, despite doing some keystone cops out there lately...do try to represent their university...in a practical sense the Boo is about the booer not being capable of containing themselves, even when they know it isn't helping the team...and actually may hurt the team. Its just a selfish, cowardly, low class, stupid thing to do.

I'm going to regret asking this...but...would you Boo the team with your mom and dad sitting next to you...how about Tommy's mom and dad...how about the next "it" recruit's mom and dad? Thats EXACTLY whats happening when people do that Sh!t!

So when you go to a game...is it about YOU, and your $400 bucks you are pissed about spending for the ticket, or the TEAM WINNING and the image of Notre Dame.

Yea it happens...but I also expect Notre Dame stadium to be a place a little better than the old veteran's stadium in Philly in that regard, where they routinely pelted players with stuff and booed...

So yea, by all means, defend the boo birds...great for everyone

Well it didn't come through at all on the ESPN/ABC broadcast which often seemed like a scUM lovefest. NBC needs to start protecting their product a little better.

On the bright side... we will not face another QB/player like Denard until next year... he only has one season of illegibility left... right?

I don't believe the wheels will fall off the cart for ND. I really don't. They had many chances last year but they beat Utah and never looked back since that win in '10. I think if ND beats State next weekend, It'll be like a new season to the ND players.

It did come through for a second but was cut out quick.

No need to get personal. I was stone sober both my parents were there and I didn't spend $400 for my ticket. I have been on the wrong side of boos before and for me they were more motivated by those than any cheers my team got.

hey you suck...get out of here!!!!!!!!! We don't measure success by beating utah and finishing 8-5, our expectations are and always will be higher than that. keep scheduling wayne st and northern michigan to make sure you're bowl eligible while take everyone's best shot every week because WE ARE NOTRE DAME!!!!!!!!!!!

...knew I'd regret asking...

I wrote all of that before I saw your post...in fact after I saw your response, I went back and read yours, so it could not possibly have been intended to be personal...although if it hit close to home on some accounts...indeed that was the intent for any "booers".

That said...I'm just another fan with an opinion...if you think booing Notre Dame is motivating the team...fire away...but I think that is a BS excuse for poor behavior.
