If the Irish can beat MSU next week, I could see them running the table to the bye week before the USC game. Then anything could happen. That said, there are a lot of trap games along the way.

Thoughts?

One less key turnover in both games, one more key defensive stop by Gary Gray in both games and ND is UNDEFEATED and knocking on the door of the Top 10. Instead this week ND probably doesn't get any votes in the Top 25. Regardless Rees isn't the problem.

This team still has a solid shot at 11-2.

My expectation is that thus teams turnovers and mental lapses drive me to either divorce, .5150 hold, or jail. Honestly, who knows. Thus team is talented, but impossible to assess. I am going to assume the worst, and hope for 6-5.

Have you watched or even paid attention to Stanford? I know you're a sharp guy, you can't honestly think that this team, turnovers or not, can beat Stanford.

One less penis and my uncle would be my aunt. This team has no shot at 11-2 unless it gets its ball security issues under control. Today, 75 percent of those issues were Tommy's, so I'd have to say that he is certainly part of the problem.

Yes, I've watched them and yes, I believe ND can beat them. But ND won't turning the ball over 4 or 5 times. I don't believe that's going to continue to happen.

I envy you for your optimism. I just don't have the will to believe in this team or the program anymore. I should probably stop posting here because I realize that I am excessively negative.

Michigan State - WIN (law of averages or some **** like that)
@ Pitt - WIN (almost lost to Maine)
@ Purdue - WIN (lost to Rice)
Air Force - WIN (maybe)
Bye
USC - LOSS (tonight's game proved crappy receivers can dominate our secondary playing glorified street ball... bad thoughts thinking about what Barkley could do)
Navy - WIN
@ Wake - WIN
@ Maryland - LOSS (in the same way we lost to USF/Michigan)
BC - WIN
Stanford - LOSS

So that's 7-5. I think with a little luck 9-3 is very reachable.

And if they get the ball security issues under control they do. We agree. And I believe they will.

I've gone back and watched each game with attention to the turnovers. I don't think that passes will continue to bounce off ND helmets into a defender's hands or an opponent will get stuffed at the goal line and the fumble will bounce right back to the QB for a walkin score. Despite the turnovers, ND incredibly is averaging over 500 yds of offense/game with a BOTH a 100 yd rusher and a 100 yd receiver.

I never said we had to stop all of the turnovers to win. I clearly noted one key turnover in each game was the margin of victory.

Your example is bogus as your uncle would then be aunt and vice versa, a net change of zero. If you had noted that if your uncle gave one of his 5 penises to your aunt, your example might have some substance but not much.

8-5 is looking pretty good right now. I was very disappointed with this defense in the 4th quarter. They played pretty well the first 3 quarters, unbelieveable the mental breakdown they had at the end. The worst part is we're our own worst enemy. Turnovers are really hurting us. I still think Tommy is our QB though. He made a few mistakes, but he produces. His mistakes aside, we were still in the game, and he made the winning drive when we needed it...I hang the loss on the fact the defense gave up 4 TDs in the 4th quarter, and 2 within the last minute and a half, unthinkable.

If we stop putting the ball on the ground we can go 9-3. Beginning of the season I had UM and Stanford being our only two losses....

At best 6-6 or 7-5- and that only if they can cut down the red zone turnovers.
There is no way they beat Michigan St. or Stanford even without the turnovers. Cousins and Luck will both shred this defense passing. No chance of stopping either of them if they cannot stop Robinson when they knew he would pass.

I think the team we saw in the 1st quarter has a chance against Stanford and MSU. That was a BCS-calibre team. Unfortunately it slowly faded away as the game progressed...

7-5 and we will lose 3 or 4 of our current commits.

Starts this week.

The commits aren't die hard, life long fans like us. They're not affected the way we are. They see a tough loss and a hard fought game. They won't be leaping off the ledge like some fans on here haha.

The coaches will get in their ear about how we need them and the team is a work in progress yada yada yada.. they will be fine and this class will be top 10.

My expectations are a record turnover margin, continued humiliation, perhaps some marginal improvement. I expect to get RUN OVER by Navy and probably Air Force.

Purdue and Wake seem to be the only real games we can count on as wins.

You guys are hilarious if you think this group can win 9 games. Not gonna happen.

I expect to never see a game where Lynch doesnt even get 1 play. I expect Brian Kelly to acknowledge that BIG TIME rcts will stay away if its obvious freshman wont get playing time. No matter how good Diaco is at making breakfast

I will keep saying it over and over KLM n Ethan are below average de, have been for 3 yrs will be for rest of lives. If Lynch played 50% of snaps we win both games PERIOD.

Oh I Expect the COACHES to see that Nix is lining up a yard n half away from the ball every snap and getting man handled every play. Its most absurd thing ive ever seen.

I Expect a new drill being developed this week called-Hey dipshit you are in the back of endzone already how bout you go ahead and turn around for once in your life. Gary freakin Gray will not practice football, just that drill.

These two losses don't change my thinking on this team. I still see 9 wins with the next loss coming to Standford. They have a bye week to prepare for USC. Lest we forget we are still playing with most of Charlie Weis' recruits and we have seen, most, especially on D, aren't all that talented. You can coach all you want but at some point, talent has to take over.

Lucky bounces falling for the opposition. Denard scores on a fumble that if their RB holds on to the ball, he was stuffed. Would have made it 4th and goal, if I recall corrrectly. Cierre just dropped the football and Tommy had butterfingers on the throw that slipped out.

We are talking about some crazy things here. Once again, they beat themselves, not the other way around.

9-3 if balls start bouncing our way...

The frustrating thing for me is of BK's 7 losses, 5 could have and should have been wins. The team just isnt there mentally yet.

You can't honestly think that Aaron Lynch would have been the difference. Kid is 18 years old. Get a clue.

We'll more than likely drop Stanford, and probably MSU. A win against either would be huge. Keep in mind USC has been less than impressive so far. They won 2 games by a total of 5 points, and are averaging a whopping 18 points a game. 8-4 is still acheivable, and would be an improvement from last yr. Just not the improvement that we all wanted.

I don't know quite what to expect. This team could easily finish 10-2. It could also easily finish 7-5.

This teams lacks confidence. It rolls up yardage very easily. But it can't quite deal with prosperity.

Between being our own worst enemy and just plain horrible luck, we've squandered two wins.

But our schedule isn't looking as difficult overall. This team should win every game except MSU and Stanford, so I'll say 8-4.
